"Then tell me, what are you hiding in your back?"
His eyes seem... suspicious and annoyed and angry and sad?
She stared at him for a while, she wants to feel if it's really fine to give him such a gift.
He grew annoyed and his eyebrows twitched, he stretched out his arm with open hands. He gestures to give him the gift but she just steps back.
"What? You're disobeying me on my birthday?" Prince Tris annoyingly said while his eyes are turning cold once again.
She can't move, she's embarrassed.
"Then, fine," He looked at the knight standing near them which walked towards the Prince, "Tell them the party's over, someone destroyed it," he looked at Irie then turned around.
The knight was about to deliver the message but Irie followed the Prince and pulls his clothes.
He stops walking, "What now?" He whispers loud enough for Irie to hear.
There are people looking at them and if they saw that they are fighting this will be an issue.
Irie lowers her head as she gives the Prince the painting.
She has to hide her blushing face that she can't understand.
'Why do I feel nervous, excited and embarrassed at the same time?' she thought.
Prince Tris was about to turn around but Irie pushes him to stay in his position.
He can't look at her but he took the canvas.
He turned it around and when he saw what's in the canvass, his face turned bright red and he immediately covered his face.
"T-thank you," he said while covering his smile.
"Happy birthday, Prince Tris," she whispers.
Both of them are blushing and smiling at the same time.
"But you can't capture my beauty that perfectly, you still need to practice more," he turns around as Irie let go of his clothes.
"May I have this dance?" He bows down, the knight who he ordered earlier took the painting and gave it to Bea who's smiling at the Princess happily.
"It's an honor, Your Highness," she curtsied and put her hand on his.
They started dancing and everyone watches in amazement.
Everyone whispered how they look like they're a match made in heaven.
But they were only focused on each other's smile, "You're not that bad, Bug," Prince Tris commented with that fake smile to hide to the people who are watching that he's mocking the Princess.
"Oh, how can you hide such an arrogant attitude in that hideous face, your highness?" Irie replied while smiling fakely at the Prince.
Everyone thought they are saying sweet words to each other, some ladies went 'aw' while some shrieked while imagining what the royal couple is talking about.
But in reality, all they do is insult each other the whole time they are dancing.
"You're getting comfortable already, Princess," Prince Tris bows down as the music fades.
"I'm glad you too, Prince, is getting comfortable," Irie curtsied elegantly as the people clap their hands.
They both fakely smiled at each other when the King suddenly arrived.
Everyone, including the Prince, bowed down.
"We are honored to be in your presence, Your Majesty, the King that owns the widest lands," everyone greeted him in unison.
"Rise," he said.
The King firstly went to Princess Irie and kissed her hand, "You look dashing Princess," he smiled.
"I am honored to hear that I please you, Your Majesty," Princess Irie smiled at the King.
"Happy birthday, Prince Tris Cassiel La Estella, my dearest heir," he pats the Prince's shoulder while smiling.
"Today, I have a special gift for you," suddenly knights came in while holding a big rectangular object covered in cloth.
It's around two meters by 4 meters wide while Irie curiously judges what it is.
"A painting made by the greatest painter, Sir Rei Leitte, he spent a year painting this," The king ordered the knights to pull the cloth.
Everyone, except Prince Tris and Princess Irie, got amazed.
"You look awful in that," Princess Irie whispers to the Prince.
"I know, but pretend it'd beautiful or else I am throwing your painting," he smiled fakely.
"What a magnificent piece! It captured the Prince radiant face perfectly, I am honored to be able to see this art, Your Majesty," Princess Irie covered her mouth to act like she really loved the art.
The King smiled proudly, "Of course, I chose the best to paint a great future leader."
Princess Irie smiled fakely with the proud response of the King, "Father, Your Highness, I am greatly in bliss with your gift. It indeed captured my exact look, like how the Princess said," he took a cold glance at the Princess who's secretly laughing.
'I'll kill you later,' the Prince thought while throwing daggers at the Princess mentally.
She seemed to feel his glare so she stops laughing.
"Then, I will take my leave, continue the dance," The King smiled before leaving.
Even though he's old, there are still young ladies who fall for his look.
Princess Irie disgustedly looks at them secretly.
"Hey, can you paint something that big?" The Prince asks the Princess while watching the knight difficultly take the Painting outside the ballroom.
"No, I don't think so. I never tried painting something that wide," Princess Irie felt sorry for the knights who carry the painting.
"By the way, where's the painter?" Princess Irie looks around for a guy who has a mustache and a french hat.
"He's ashamed. If you're an artist, you know the painting is bad so he hides. Yet he can fool my father, who's not into art, and made him and everyone else here think that it's a masterpiece," Prince Tris groans.
Princess Irie smiles because he's getting comfortable talking normally with her, but she suddenly realized that he's the son of the people who killed her family.
There were young nobles who went to the Prince and talked with him.
But he takes glances of the Princess who looks like she's going to kill the carpet of the ballroom.
"Is something wrong?" The Prince asks when he finished accepting the gifts of the nobles.
"Nothing, Your Highness. I just got sleepy," she smiled.
"By the way, since you're staying here until we get married, why don't we start calling ourselves without the title, I don't want to see you as those ladies who only see me as a Prince since you already know my true color," he slightly blushes while maintaining the eye contact with her.
"Uh..." she thought for a while, "Yeah, why not, TRIS," she smiled mockingly.
"Did you just think about what I ordered you? And why do I feel like you're mocking me when you emphasized my name?" Prince Tris raised his brow.
Princess Irie just laughs while watching the Prince feel offended.
'He looks so cute when he's flustered,' she thought while staring at the Prince's blushing face.
"If you're tired, go to sleep, no one's stopping you," he said while calling Bea.
"No, I would love to stay longer with you. It's your birthday after all," Princess Irie smiled.
They both walked around while Irie's holding the Prince's arms.
"You are blessed to have such beautiful Princess, your highness," The Duke of Norium commented as he stares at the Princess.
The Prince can feel that the Princess is getting embarrassed by his stares, "That is true, so I would love to suggest you stop staring at my Fiance, Duke," the Prince said with his usual smile.
The Duke with other nobles felt scared for a moment but after seeing the Prince's smile, they brush his scary glare off.
"You can really hide that arrogant face of yours fast, huh?" The Princess asks while taking a bite of a biscuit.
"Yes, of course, I can't scare the people away, I need them to love me."
The night grew darker and the Prince decided to close the party when Princess Irie has yawn 20 times.
They bet that if she yawns 20 times, the party's over but if she wouldn't the party will continue.
"... Have a great night, Kingdom of North," he raised his glass as a sign of farewell to the people.
Princess Irie's standing beside him but her eyes are closed.
Her head's swaying softly, the Prince stared at her for a while until he suddenly carried the Princess in his arms.
"Wow, you're heavier than I expected!" He said while smiling like a bully.
Irie was shocked at first, but due to her sleepiness, she just comfortably rests her head on his chest.
"Wow, you're enjoying this too much, Lorainne," he smiled while the people started whispering about what he did but he didn't listen, instead he went to walk to the Princess' room.
She immediately fell asleep while listening to his heartbeat.
She's been doing her best to stay awake to make the Prince have some company.
She knows he's sad because he's alone.
"You really reminds me of Irie and that princess sometimes, so maybe it's fine..." He puts her to bed slowly and kissed her forehead.
A blue rose sign suddenly appeared in the Princess' forehead and it disappeared quickly.
"If you call for me, I will surely go to you," he smiled before leaving.
"Aren't you getting close to that Princess? We are not yet sure if she's a friend or a foe," the king said while staring at the window.
"No, I am just playing around her. She's fun to tease," he said in a straight tone.
"It's fine as long as she's the one being played, but if it turned out that you're the toy, I will finish her off easily like a small doll," The King's eye's turned red.
The Prince can't do anything, "Yes, Father."
He knew something was wrong when he first saw his father turned red before he killed the South family and now it's back again.
"Then tell me, what are you hiding in your back?"
His eyes seem... suspicious and annoyed and angry and sad?
She stared at him for a while, she wants to feel if it's really fine to give him such a gift.
