Days went by, and the job of the guardians had become a routine to Scarlet, including having to face Luna every single day. She still did not know for sure who she was. She still did not know why she was clinging to her, and she still felt it was suspicious. Yet, for some reasons, she could not bring herself to ask her directly. She felt like her head would spit into two whenever she tried to think about her. So, she had just let the matter went by for now. After all, there was another more serious matter at hand now. Yeah, it was the matter regarding Zero's being a vampire.

Apparently, the matter had become more serious because there was a new teacher coming, and he was Zero's master before when he was still learning to become a vampire hunter. Now, the three guardians were facing the said teacher who was holding a gun on his hand, aiming for Zero and Yuki who were in the pool. How it went like this? Let me explain.

Scarlet's POV

At the day, we three were assigned to go shopping by the headmaster. Well, actually it was only me, when suddenly Zero came out to the gate with Yuki who was chasing behind him. So, the headmaster included the two of them as well. Then, after our shopping was done, Zero was having his trouble with the thirst he was having, so, he had run ahead to stop himself from craving for Yuki's blood. Yup, Yuki's, not mine. Because he had tasted her blood, and he deemed it was delicious enough so yeah. It's too complicated to explain it, so, I would like to skip the details.

After we found out he had run somewhere else, we went to look for him, and when we found him, he was already facing with a Level E Vampire. He seemed to look like he was hesitating to kill it. Then, when we arrived, the Level E Vampire had changed its target to Yuki. Zero, who was not in his right mind, responded it too late, and the Level E Vampire was already right above Yuki and I. I quickly took my sword out, but, before I could even slash it down, the Level E Vampire was already turned into dust.

Then, we saw Shiki Senri and Ichijou Takuma who had saved us. Then Ichijou-senpai invited us to come to the night class dorm, or the moon dorm tonight. The invitation only came after Yuki had been confused about why the vampires had slashed down another vampire. So, then, that night, which was also tonight, we came to the moon dorm. Apparently, it was Ichijou-senpai's birthday party.

"Ugh... Remind me why are we here again? In the middle of these... vampires?" I mumbled as it took me a while before I could finish the question. "Better remind me too." Zero joined in. "Now, now, you guys." Yuki replied as she laughed nervously. "We can leave once we hear the answer." She said turning to look at the two of us. Both of us just sighed silently as we walked further inside the dorm.

"So, Ichijou-senpai, why did you kill another vampire? Aren't you both vampires?" Yuki repeated the question she asked in the afternoon. "Please don't group us with them." It was the blonde haired vampire who answered. "Geh!" I silently grunted in my mind as I saw him, and I just spontaneously took a step back as he walked to us. Hanabusa Aido who realized it then voiced out his complain, "Aww~ Scarlet-chan, why are you taking a step back? Are you avoiding me?" He asked, pretending to sound hurt.

"Yeah, right... That's not going to work for me, Hanabusa-senpai. But well, it's just my body had automatically moved whenever you got near me. Call it a sixth sense, perhaps." I nonchalantly said as I kept on stepping back whenever Hanabusa-senpai walked up to me now until I suddenly could not move. Not because of peculiar power, but because I was glomped again, but none other than the vampire who always hung around me. "Aha~ I guess, you're hated, Hanabusa Aido-senpai~" Luna chirped gleefully as she glomped onto me.

I sighed again. "Well, Luna, please get away from me too." I said as I turned to look at her whose face was so close to mine it's disturbing. "Hah! I guess you're hated too then!" Hanabusa-senpai said to Luna, pointing to her with a winning face. Luna pouted but got away from me anyway. "Seriously, she was pretty obedient." I thought in my mind. "If only she was not too clingy to me." I added in my mind as I sighed again.

"Scarlet, do you hate me??" Luna directly asked looking at me. "That look again." I muttered in my mind as I saw her sad look again, somehow she showed me that look pretty often, and I just somehow could not stand it. So, I pat her head, and said, "No, don't worry." I simply answered as I surely did not hate her, but I still could not accept vampires, so I did not say anything further. "Yay~! I love you too, Scarlet!" Luna jumped gleefully clinging to me again. Seriously, whatever I could do to her. Then, I saw Hanabusa-senpai looking at us with a face I could not really tell what was it, jealousy? Anger? Annoyed? I was not sure either. But, when he realized I was looking at him, his face turned reddish before he turned to look away.

"So, Hanabusa-senpai, what do you mean by your sentence before?" Yuki asked again, bringing the topic back to the one had been hanging around her mind. "Hmm? Yeah, Level E Vampires were previously humans." Hanabusa-senpai started and began explaining, then when he was about to reach the reason for them killing the Level E Vampires, a familiar voice cut his explanation and continued it instead.

"It was my idea. I ordered them to kill the Level E Vampires." All of us turned to look at the owner of the voice who was none other than Kaname-senpai himself. He was standing above all of us at the terrace when he later then sat down on the sofa, specially prepared for him only. "Come here, Yuki, Scarlet, and Kiryu-kun too. I will explain it further." He said to the three of us.

We had no other choice but to listened to him, then when we were about to reach the terrace when we were at the stairs, Kaname-senpai added, "Come sit beside me, Yuki." I turned to look at Yuki who seemed surprised at the words. "Uh, no, I will be fine." She replied nervously. "Yuki." Kaname-senpai only called her name, and she obediently sat on the sofa. Then Kaname-senpai pulled her closer to him. I could only look away as he spoke to her, "Being beside me is the safest place, Yuki." Then he took her hand where she got an injury from before. "You're hurt, huh, Yuki?" He then gently kissed the wound and it disappeared.

"Ah, seriously, why did I even agree to go here..." I mentally sighed as I was still not looking at them. "Scarlet." I heard my name being called, as I turned, I found Kaname-senpai was looking at me. "Thank you." He spoke looking at me straight. "Huh?" I simply questioned with my stoic face. "I heard you were at least trying to protect Yuki before." He answered smiling to me. "No. It was nothing. She still got hurt after all." I said as I once again turned my face away from them. "Anyway, can you please continue the explanation then, Kaname-senpai?" I added still not looking at him. "Please just hurry up and finish it. I'd feel like to return now." I mentally complained.

Then Kaname-senpai continued it as I requested. "Level E Vampires were humans who were bitten by vampires, Pureblood Vampires." He began. "Like myself." He added and Yuki had turned to look at him. "I bet she was thinking that Kaname-senpai was the same as the one who killed Zero's family and turned him into a vampire, right?" I mentally thought. "However, they were not vampires like us. They were beasts in humans form. They could not control their hunger and they killed anyone to become their foods." Kaname continued, as he stole a glance to Zero who frowned as he listened to him.

The explanation continued and somehow it had annoyed Zero so he spoke up to Kaname-senpai and it raised the tension between the vampires as they thought Zero was rude to speak to a Pureblood like Kaname-senpai that way. Then, Ichijou-senpai broke the tense by saying that it was his birthday party so he wished not to ruin it, and with that, the party began. We three, the guardians just stayed at the terrace as we saw the vampires enjoying themselves by drinking each other's blood. "Ugh... It's sickening." I grunted as I frowned watching them.

"S-C-A-R-L-E-T~" A voice called. "Uhh... that voice, that note..." I mentally sighed as I totally recognize the voice. "Can I have yours~?" She innocently asked as she suddenly appeared before me. I quickly jumped away from her, like automatically as my hand reached my neck, and the other to my sword. "Aww~ I'm just joking~" Luna said as she saw how alerted I was. I stared at her for a while before I sighed. "I'm leaving." I simply said before walking away from her and the terrace. Before I reached the stairs, though I turned to look at Kaname-senpai and bowed my head slightly. "Thank you for the explanation, Kaname-senpai, I will be taking my leave first." I politely said before turning away without even looking at him. "Thank you for the invitation as well, Ichijou-senpai. But, sorry I have to leave now." I then said to Ichijou-senpai who was talking to Shiki-senpai.

"Ah, it's alright. Thanks for coming, Scarlet-chan!" He said with his friendly smile as always. I only nodded before I added, "Ah, happy birthday to you too, Ichijou-senpai. Well, then, everyone." I said to him before turning to others and left the party before Zero and Yuki. Then I took a breathing on the tree above the pool, when suddenly then I saw Zero running away from the party with Yuki chasing after him. "Ah, this pattern again..." I mentally commented.

Then the next scene was the one that was different from usual. Apparently, Zero's thirst was reacting from the party. Then, Yuki had been in a dilemma whether to stop him or not. So, then she jumped into the pool with him, I guess it was to let him drink her blood without making the other noticed it. Then the two raised from the pool. I did not see any blood, so I guess Zero had been able to subside it for now. But, then, there was blood, coming from Zero who had been shot by the new teacher who was Zero's master.

And so, that was how this scene was unfolding in front of me.

End of Scarlet's POV

Yuki was now hugging Zero as to protect him, but then he told her, "It's okay, Yuki." as he shoved her away gently, and was now facing his master directly. The new teacher was about to shoot him again when the headmaster came, thankfully and stopped him. After some explanations and exchanged words, Kaien Cross then introduced the new teacher, Toga Yagami to Yuki, and Scarlet who was listening from the tree without them realizing.

"Toga Yagami. He is a vampire hunter and was Zero's master when he was small." Kaien Cross spoke up as he introduced his friend to his daughter(s). He then ushered Yuki and Zero to returned to their rooms, and he would speak to Toga Yagami himself. Meanwhile, Scarlet had retreated back to her room herself as she somehow felt slightly more tired than usual.

But, apparently, the next days to come would become even more tiring than that day, both for Scarlet, Yuki, and even more so to Zero.
