Asoke watched Lestan went ahead through the hallway. Then he slowly followed him and suddenly heard a voice.
"One more step, scumbag and I'll cut the chain." A bulky voice said.
Asoke sneaked to the mechanism room and saw a buffed guy that suited to the voice. He was holding a big axe just next to the chain. That's probably an important part of the mechanism. Nevertheless he wasn't convinced if even such big axe could do it. Chain was very thick after all and reinforced to weighed heavy gates.
He looked at Lestan's back. Blue swordsman hadn't equip his weapon and carefully looked at the axe. Asoke thought that maybe this boy knew more than him. He processed the situation and realized that axe had to be enhanced with magic. He concentrated his sight on the axe and could see some dimmed glow on it. It could be it, but he couldn't see it clearly from where he was, hiding in the hallway. He didn't want to get a better look, coz he could be noticed by enemy though.
So he took out his bow and picked an arrow. He aimed to the bulky guy's hand and focused to not to hit accidentally his crush. The boy in front of him still didn't move apparently still thinking about what he would do. He took a deep breath and shot the arrow, which hit the enemy's wrist. Buff guy loosen his grip, but didn't release his weapon.
Blue boy immediately took out his sword and tried to cut enemy's hand. The muscles were too thick to be cut through, but the guard dropped his weapon at least. Then he raised his left hand to strike the swordsman, but Asoke shot swiftly another arrow that pierced the hand. Thanks to that enemy didn't execute his attack. The swordsman could not make out of it.
Of course it wasn't over, despite the wounds the enemy was still at full strength. Those attacks only made him angry. He was about to grab his axe back. Asoke started to shot his right arm to prevent this. Then blue soldier stabbed the enemy's right arm. Then he growled like a bear and pushed boy away. Asoke shot another few arrows, aiming this time for his head. If hitting arms didn't have any effect that maybe head would be a perfect target. It didn't have any muscles after all. Unfortunately bulk covered his head with his arms, so they didn't have any effect as well.
Then swordsman stood out cutting enemy's chest and grabbing it with his left hand.
"Fel halitus," blue guy yelled.
The wound on his chest glowed and bulk guy grabbed his neck breaking the arrow in his left palm. He was chocking and fell on his knees. After some time he fell on his side releasing his own throat. He was certainly dead then. Swordsman hided his sword, then looked on his left hand in blood and wiped it with lower part of enemy's gray shirt.
"Allavo," he said.
Asoke peeked through his shoulder to see the same thing swordsman saw, there were no signs of blood anymore. Then he turned around to face the thief.
"Thank you." He said with relief.
"Anytime," Asoke smirked and patted his crush. "And that was amazing-"He stopped when the boy lost his balance. Asoke caught him, before he could fell on the ground. "You're okay?" He asked.
He took out the amulet that he took from the ugly face and squeezed it. After a moment he stood again without needing to be hold. He shook his head and hid amulet again.
"It's okay, magic is just...exhausting." He answered.
"Oh, got that." Asoke replied.
"Now, could you help me with that?" He asked.
"Sure thing," thief replied.
They both went to the switch, each on the either side. Asoke started to pull, while the blue boy pushed. Slowly but successfully they switched it and heard that gate was opening. Guy rushed to the exit and Asoke followed him immediately. When they were outside again swordsman suddenly stopped and stared like he saw a ghost.
"What is that?" He asked.
"What's wrong?" Asoke was worried.
The boy shook his head and replied "Some powerful magic is being prepared, we need to hurry, but what in the heck is that?" Lestan pointed something on the main street.
"Oh,they probably want to plant explosives on the main street." Thief answered.
"What? Why didn't you tell me sooner?" Boy asked nervously.
"You never asked." Asoke chuckled.
The swordsman groaned and rolled his eyes.
"By the way, I haven't caught your name." Asoke exclaimed
"That's probably, because I haven't thrown it." Boy in bandana retorted sarcastically.
Asoke chuckled and then magician loudly whistled and after a moment a horse came below them. He jumped on it, when Asoke whistled with admiration.
"He's so sparkly." Asoke remarked.
"Yes,it is magic and he's called Pegas." He explained.
"Like Pegasus?" Archer asked.
"Yes,like Pegasus. You're coming or waiting for a special invitation?" He asked bored.
"You're saying that I can hop with you on that horse?" Asoke asked excited.
Boy sighed."Come on, we don't have a whole day."
The thief hopped on the horse just behind the rider and put his arms around his waist. Asoke was pleased with more touching with his crush. Then horse ran leaded by the ally soldier. They rushed to the place enemy was preparing the explosives to sabotage anyone that would come along the main street. When they reached the place, swordsman jumped off from the horse and attacked the nearest enemy. Asoke was so in shock he didn't even noticed that he wasn't holding him anymore.
He quickly climbed down the horse and started shooting arrows. Not much of them left though. Fortunately Pegas wasn't about to just stand and do nothing. Like swordsman cut next enemies, horse charged at them and attacked with his hoof. It didn't last long before all enemies here were defeated.
The swordsman quickly hided his weapon and rushed to the carts with explosives and started to push them to the side street. It was too heavy for him, so Asoke wondered why he was doing it.
"Ribus" He exclaimed.
Now he was pushing them without any problem. Seemed it was a spell to strength him and allowed him to do it. When he did it some soldiers came from the side alley.Apparently they were waiting to ambush those who would go through the main street. So that place was a real death trap for intruders. Swordsman immediately started flipping backwards. Asoke knew what it was about. He quickly took of his flint and wiped it with a tip of his arrow to make it burn.
"Shoot it." Ally soldier yelled while flipping backwards.
Asoke quickly shot the cart and it exploded, possibly killing all enemies from the side alley. They hit two birds with the one stone. Unfortunately force of that blown was so strong it throw his crush out of balance and he was about to fell on the ground with great force. Asoke without thinking dropped his bow and dashed to catch the boy.
"That was close." Thief said helping soldier to regain the balance.
Soldier took a deep breath and again took out the blue amulet. He squeezed it and after a longer moment he hid it again straitening up.
"Thank you again." He exclaimed releasing himself from Asoke's hold.
Archer went to get his bow and turned again to the blue boy.
"I'm out of arrows." Thief explained.
"That's okay, it's over; you should hide and escape from here before someone would want to kill you." He replied.
Then he hopped on his horse and faced the main gate.
"Hey you, who are you anyway?" Asoke asked.
"I'm the Prince of Karasia." Horseman smirked. "Bye." He said and rushed.
Asoke widen his eyes staring at disappearing prince. Then he reminded himself where he was.It was time to hide again.
*********************************
Lestan rode towards the main gate when he approached his father with his companions. On his left side like always were the Vizier Rohan, but on his right side was his other son, Lestan's older brother. Kastan was the most handsome of brothers and not including Lestan, the youngest.
"Kastanhow's Nisana?" Lestan asked.
"Pregnant,"he exclaimed proudly with wide smile.
Lestan groaned "Again? You don't do anything else, but be in bed?" Lestan frowned.
"Hahaha, guilty as charged," he laughed.
Lestan rolled his eyes and spoke to the Vizier. "Did you disarm this magic trap?"
"Of course I did. What kind of Vizier do you think I am?" Rohan grimaced.
"The good one," Kastan stated chuckling.
"The best one," King outbid him.
Both smirked to each other and Lestan rolled his eyes.
"By the way son, what was that explosion?" Araman asked.
"They planned to ambush you with on the main street, so I took over it." Lestan answered.
"Wow little brother, you really know what are doing." Kastan smirked.
"That's right my son. I never doubted in him." King stated.
Then Lestan looked at Rohan again. "Did you feel that?" Prince asked.
"Yes, just when you said that, I felt it." Vizier answered.
Lestan took out the amulet and show it to Rohan. "Is it safe to use?"
Rohan took his hand above the amulet. "Yes, it's a source of strong magic. Where did you get that?"
"I've took it from a guy with twisted physique, so I wonder if it wouldn't do that tome if I wear it." Prince explained.
"No, it won't. That guy probably got that way by experimenting with magic, sometimes it happens." Rohan exclaimed.
"Great, could you restore it? It seems to be empty now." Lestan asked.
Rohan put his hand above the amulet again and spoke, "Impigritas."
"Great, I'll go ahead and try to stop it." Lestan took the amulet and put it around his neck. Rohan nodded and prince turned his horse around and rushed to the city centre.
He didn't always take a main road to avoid any troops and traps. After some time he reached the city centre only to widen his eyes in horror. Derasian Vizier was about to complete his powerful spell over a huge blood circle. Around him were few hundred enemies to protect him.
There was only one thought in Lestan's mind. How was he supposed to get through all these enemies and interrupt such powerful spell that might annihilate the whole army at once?
