Centuries after the events that transpired that fateful day. Now just on the out skirts of a small city, there is a tiny town near a great forest. In this quant town an antique slash book store stands. It`s a small but yet decent size building that housed many oddities with in it, and if you were to ask the right people they would agree the owner is an oddity himself.
The young man in charge is now in the middle of reorganizing the store, when a tall, dark haired man with piercing brown eyes walled in. The owner was moving to the beat of music he had playing while organizing, when this man had walked in.
"What are you doing" the man asked walking up to the dark haired, short, and pale skin man, that is the owner, startling him. This had caused him to throw some things in the air and others crashing straight on to the floor.
The man behind the owner had managed to catch a good bit of the objects and let others plummet to the ground.
"Why do you do that to me?" The owner asked while barely holding on to the merchandise he could salvage from the fall.
"Because it`s fun. I mean what`s else is a big brother for?" The tall man smirked while placing the recently saved objects on the counter.
"Huh, I always thought they were supposed to protect you and be kind." the owner scuffed.
"Aww, who told you that?" The tall man said walking up to the owner and ruffled his hair and moving past him.
"You did." he huffed as he tried to gently put the saved objects he had on him down on the nearest table.
"Oh, well sorry about that then." The tall man joked.
"No you`re not." The owner stated when he got the last object on the table and looked at his bother.
"You know me too well." he said while taking a look at the rustic looking place that now surrounded him.
"So, why are you really here?" The owner said a little worriedly. He shuffled his feet where he stood. Picking up a tea cup off the table, to inspect it.
"I was just in the neighborhood and thought I would stop in and check on you. You know, see how you're settling in." The tall man said unconvincingly while messing with random objects in the store.
"Well if that's all, then I'm fine. I mean it's been a few weeks or since I set up shop, an I'm still unpacking random boxes." The owner said light heartedly.
"Oh, ok." the tall man paused for moment "Are you sure you wouldn't want to set up shop closer to home?" the man sincerely said to his brother.
"I'm fine. You don't have to worry about me Freddy." The owner responded to his brothers request.
"That's easier said than done." Freddy said in a 'not really' voice.
"Oh, come on. I'm fine." The younger brother said with a flustered laugh and smile.
Freddy shuffled a bit in place and licked is lips a bit and started to say "Really, you moved a good distance from home. An not only that but it's near a forest in a well isolated place!" Freddy started to raise is his voice by the end of his sentence.
"So?" the younger raised his shoulders and yelled back. Not taking his eyes off the cup for a second.
"So! Nothing good has come from this family when they're alone. Especially in isolated areas, LIKE THIS!" Freddy gestured to the whole area and started walking back toward his little brother.
"Aw, come on, it doesn't happen that often. You sound like you believe in that old family curse." The younger said calmly and still holding and looking at the same light starry blue tea cup.
"Maybe I do. I mean think about, our great grand-father died while just hiking in the woods. Our twice great grandma viciously ripped apart, when she took a short cut home through the woods. We have countless more stories like this." Fred listed concernedly.
"Things weren't that great back in their days. Plus.." The younger brother was cut off.
"Mom." Fred said looking away to from his brother. "Her car accident was on a remote dirt road that she road countless when she wasn't alone. An the one time she was." He stopped and looked down unable to speak.
The younger brother bit his bottom lip for a moment and turned to face his brother.
"It was an accident. An I refuse to have my life dictated by some crazy curse, that may not be real." He said shakily and putting the tea cup down finally.
Heavy sigh "I know, I know" Freddy repeated while whipping his hand down his face and slowly turning to look at his little brother's sorrowful but determined blue eyes. Then looked away and back with a defeated smile.
"I can't convince you, can I?" Freddy's gaze never faltering, he secretly wanted to be wrong, but he knew his brother. Once his mind is made up, there was no stopping him. Without extreme force, that is.
"No. This is I want to do. That feels right to me, like I'm right where I need to be." The younger brother said plainly.
"Fine... But if you need anything, and I mean anything. I don't care what it is; You call me. An I'll be here." He said grabbing his younger brother's shoulder and hugged him tightly.
"Ok, I will." the muffled youngest cried.
"Just be careful, ok?" Fred said pulling out of the huge yet still holding him by the shoulders.
"You know me. I all ways do." The youngest smiled softly.
"Yeah right" Fed rolled his eyes in disbelief. He then released his brother and proceeded to walk out the door.
"See Ya." The youngest said while giving a small wave to his brother as he left.
