Hey, so today in my English class we started talking about Romeo and Juliet and breaking down the prologue, and it was a pain in the ass. I feel like breaking down and translating the story sentence by sentence really takes away from the experience, so if you are also a person that hates having to break down old writing and/or is just tired of all the effort, then here for your reading pleasure is my translation of the prologue of Romeo and Juliet into modern day language.

Two families equal in both wealth and power lived in the beautiful town of Verona, where this story takes place. These families held a grudge against each other that was so old no one remembered how it started, however their hatred for each other didn't fade with their memories. They fought and hurt each other, their fellow citizens of Verona. Born from these two enemy families were two ill-fated soulmates, whose death was the only thing that could end the feud. The events that came to pass due to their doomed love and their parents' hatred for each other is what we will see for the next two hours, and if you listen carefully you'll be able to hear all of the details excluded from this prologue.
