Ahnali woke up late the next morning, her ankles were sore, her bruises were tender and she had a small headache from all of the crying. She got out of bed slowly and went to freshen up. “I still need to think of something to tell them about Rain, maybe Claire can help.” She walked out of the bathroom and scanned her room. She was relieved to see her phone and clutch sitting on top of her dresser. She grabbed her phone and began texting Claire.

Hey, I need help! Do you by chance know any guys who seem/look like a Good Samaritan that might walk around town late at night that my dad doesn’t know!!! ~Ahnali

She continued to get ready as she waited for Claire’s reply. About 5 minutes later Claire texted back

Girl, if your dad is involved then no questions asked. I have a friend, college junior, I met him at "Explore Campus Week". He works late downtown and usually chooses to walk home, I think he’ll be perfect for whatever you need him for...what’s the gig? ~Claire

Ok, so I was out late, and was attacked -again, I’ll explain later- I was saved by this guy -later- but I can’t tell my dad about him so I made up what happened and now I need a guy to act as my fake savior. I’ll pay...and my dad will give him a reward...That’s twice the pay!!! ~Ahnali

Ahnali waited anxiously trying to distract herself with games on her phone. However, constantly losing maze break gets old fast. 15 minutes went by but there was still no reply from Claire.

There was a knock on her door, she jumped to the bathroom “Ahnali, are you awake?”

“Uh, yeah, just got up.”

“Ok, get ready and come down stairs, it’s fairly late so we’ll go out to eat lunch before we go to the station.”

“O-ok mom, just give me some time.” She listened to her mom walk away before relaxing. Suddenly her phone began to chime. She picked it up relieved to see the message was from Claire.

Hey, he’s willing to do it for FREE! Isn’t he just the BEST!!! Here’s a picture of him, he’s about 6’4’’. I’m free all week, I expect an explanation. P.S. just give me instructions and I’ll pass them on to him. ~Claire

Ahnali studied his photo for a bit, then grabbed a bag and moved over the items from her clutch. She slung the bag over her shoulder then went down stairs.
