Lexy woke up to see a purple canopy spread out above her. She looked around her and saw a purple bedspread. Lexy sat up and fluffy purple pillows fuffed behind her.
“Where am I?” Lexy asked. Her throat felt raw like she hadn’t spoken in days.
“I’m so glad you were awake. The doctors wouldn’t say if you would make it through.” Lexy looked over and saw that it was Christine who spoke.
Lexy lunged out of bed and gave her best friend a huge hug.
“Um, Lexy. I can’t breathe,” Christine squeezed out. Lexy let go of Christine and looked her up and down.
“I’m just so glad that you are alright.”
Christine frowned, “Why wouldn’t I be alright?”
Lexy spotted a pile of clothing. It was a simple purple dress. She looked at Christine to see if she was supposed to put it on. Christine nodded.
“I heard you scream, and I thought that Madam Vile had done something to you and that I would never see you again.” Lexy shrugged into the dress.
Christine stalked over to Lexy and gave her a bear hug. “No matter what happens, Lexy. Know that I will never leave you.” Christine stepped back. “Madam Vile just put me in a time lock. That’s way, I could see what was going on, but not help you.”
Lexy looked around suddenly realizing something. “Where are we and are you really a fairy?”
Christine chuckled, “We are in your castle. Everything Madam Vile said was true. I mean about you being a witch princess. And yes I’m really a fairy.”
Lexy looked up slyly, “Can you change size?”
Christine groaned, “Yes I can. I think it’s time we went to go see your parents and your brother. You ready?”
Lexy smiled, “I’m so ready.”
Christine changed into a small fairy with wings and opened the door. They went down several damp stone hallways and they entered a throne room.
Christine changed to her normal size. She had on a light pink gown with white sleeves. Christine sank into a deep curtsy. “Your Majesties, may I present, your daughter, Lexy.” Christine stepped out of the way.
Lexy looked up and saw her parents just like she had remembered them. She ran towards them and grabbed them both in a hug.
“My daughter!! Are you okay?” Emily said.
“I’m fine Mommy. I missed you.” Lexy squeezed them tighter then let them go. “Where’s Michal?”
“Right here, little sis.” Michal peeked out from behind Mich.
“Michal!!!” Lexy yelled as she ran up and hugged him.
“Hey little sis,” Michal said as he hugged Lexy back.
Lexy let Michal go and started to hyperventilate from excitedness. “I think that I need to go outside.” Lexy wiped a hand across her forehead.
Christine rushed to her side. “You aren’t fully rested from releasing your full power. I knew that I shouldn't have let you out. But you looked and sounded fine.”
Mich rested a hand on Christine’s shoulder. “Christine. It’s okay. We asked you to bring our Lexy to us as soon as she woke up. But maybe it’s best if we go out on the trace?”
Christine looked up at Mich. “Of course sire. Right, this way.” Christine lead the way to huge glass double doors. They were accented with gold metal.
Christine pushed open the big glass doors and gestured them all outside. Lexy stepped outside and her breath got taken away. There was a beautiful sunset lowering itself behind a small town of stone houses. The streets were bustling and lights shot up into the sky like magic.
“Wow!!” Lexy said. She couldn’t take her eyes off of the sunset.
Christine smiled and put an arm around Lexy’s shoulder and pulled her close.
“This is beautiful, but what did happen to Madam Vile?” Lexy said, coking her head at Christine.
Christine’s face darkened. “Madam Vile and Raven are in our dungeons. They will never hurt you again.”
Mich coughed. Christine looked towards him startled. “I’m sorry sire. All you need to know, Lexy, is that you will never be alone, ever.” Christine looked over at Lexy, smiled, and pulled her closer.
“That’s right lil sis. I’m glad to have you back, but you were never alone,” Michal said. He reached over and ruffled Lexy’s hair.
Lexy looked around her. She was surrounded by Christine, who had her arm around her shoulder, Michal, who had a hand on her head, and her parents, who each had a hand on her shoulder. She was surrounded by her family. Lexy looked back at the sunset and she knew they were right. She was never alone.
