I tried my damnedest,
To convince
The Hearts
That I was alright
Within the castle walls.
But they didn't listen.
They never do.
And I swore I saw
Emerald smirk,
Who was on my left,
When they did not respond.
Damn mermaid
Is more crueler than a Shark.
As we fell
To the first floor
We passed
The roaming servants
And visiting
Dities.
Each one,
Held their head down
Not allowing their
Curious eyes
To see what I look like
Without the permission
Of King Tsunarius.
I was escorted
To the small
Dining hall
Located towards
The back of the castle.
We stopped
At the large
Arched coral doors
And Emerald swam in first.
I heard her voice
From outside the hall,
“I present to you; Princess Adolescence, The Silver Princess, whom is very apologetic for being late. Please, forgive her once more.”
I mocked the words
In silence.
“Of course I will forgive her! I always do!” the jolly voice of King Tsunarius rang, “Where are you, daughter of mine? Come through with your head held high so I can see you!”
I inhaled,
Awkwardly swimming
Into the exotic dining area
With my hand waving a small
Hello.
Sea lanterns
Floated around
The large table
Fit for ten
Yet only four mermaids
And a King sat
On the chairs
Made from the wood
Of wrecked ships.
I attempted a smile, “Morning everyone…! I’m sorry for being late...again!”
I swam over
And quickly sat down
In my seat
The eyes
Of my four
Older sisters
Burned through
My body,
Setting it on fire.
“Of course you’re late again!” The eldest sister, Adele, sneered.
She’s the meanest
Out of all of them.
Her sapphire eyes
And harsh words
Cut into you,
Leaving scars for days.
She has long
Curly black hair
That held onto mini
Seashells throughout her hair
And some
Even formed a small tiara
That sat on her head.
She is known for always wearing
A frilly azure and ivory dress
That clung to her small frame.
“Let me guess, you had bad dreams again? Boo hoo, you should really stop being a child you know?” The second oldest, Beatrice, twirled her fork around on the plate sitting in front of her.
Her apricot hair
Was tied in
Two ponytails
That caressed
Her smooth shoulders.
On top of her head
Was a jade crown
Which she flaunted
At every chance.
The only thing
She enjoyed wearing
Was a moss green bra
And a long sheer overlay
That covered her arms.
I found out the hard way
That she hated dresses.
Cleodora,
The third eldest,
Never muttered a word
At the table.
She sat in silence,
Plotting her words
As she sat
Eating her food.
Her straight snowy
And long hair
Flowed down her body,
Entangled into her black
Corset
And touched almost
Every purple bell flower
That sprouted
From her skirt.
Then there was the last
Fourth eldest daughter
Who I sat next too.
She smiled at me
With her elbows on the table.
Her fiery red hair
Was more overgrown
Than Adeles
And her eyes
Screamed hate.
The red in her eyes
Matched her shimmering
Cardinal gown she adored.
Her name was Lyra
And before I showed up
She was the youngest Princess
In the entire sea.
