Alan's pov

The person never replied back. I didn't bring it up to my friends because I was bothering them a lot about Stacie lately. But the dance was getting closer and closer. I needed things to go right. But I guess most would think me going to the basketball court alone after school was a dumb thing to do. I agree but I kind of figured out who was there so I wasn't worried. It was none other than Duke. He turned around with a basketball in his hands when he heard me open the gate.

"Hey," Duke said turning his head away and shot the basketball only to miss terribly.

"Hey," I replied and cleared my throat to keep myself from laughing as I walked over to the ball grabbing it. "So what's up?" I pass the ball back to him.

"Oh yeah." he laughed dribbling the ball. "Let's play and talk," he suggested and I shrugged getting into position. "So you hear about the dance?" he asked as he dribbled down the court.

"The Halloween dance?" I grunted as I tried to keep up and stay in his way.

"Yeah," he smirked standing tall and shot the ball but it missed making his smirk disappear as he glared.

"We have one every year nothing new." I shrugged going over to the ball grabbing it.

"It's new to me." his glare now on me.

"Last time I checked we did our own thing because you said school dances are lame." I dribbled the ball focusing on it instead of his glare.

"And last time I checked Stacie wasn't hosting it last year," he said as I was about to shoot the basketball, I stopped in my tracks. "I'm going and gonna win her over. I want you to handle the guy's thing while I'm gone. Can you do that for me?" he asked slapping the ball out of my hands, getting it in his as I stared at him.

While one part of me was upset another was shocked how head over heels he was and how he was leaving me in charge. The other part was honored to have his trust but a huge part of me wanted to punch him in the face. After doing that I could run away and then wear a hood to cover me up a bit. But Duke would probably catch me and I would be dead. I wonder if I told him I liked her first if he would back off. But knowing Duke he wouldn't and I would be on his bad side.

"Uh hello." he snapped me out of my thoughts.

"Um well...I don't know. I was actually thinking of going to the dance." I shrank back, scared of how he might react.

"Well shit, figure it out and let me know then." he cursed some more under his breath making me blink at him.

"Uh, yeah sure." I recovered and he nodded at me.

"See you later," he said dribbling the ball again and I nodded before heading off the court and past the gate.

My walk back home has never been so stressful. I was thinking about Stacie, my conversation with Duke on the basketball court, my plans Bob helped me with, and just so much more. Now because of Duke, I don't know what to do. I guess I could ask my friends for advice... Or maybe not ugh I already said I didn't want to keep bothering them about Stacie. I needed to figure this all out on my own.

So when I got home and was in my room I laid on my bed thinking. I got up to eat and I did my homework. But I still had the thought of what to do about Halloween in the back of my mind. Which made me mess up on my homework a couple of times. I can just choose one but who will take care of the Trex group. By taking care I mean watch, yeah literally be a babysitter for some teenagers that were older than me.

I decided Landon would be the perfect fit. It's not like he wanted to go to the dance anyway. He could still come for a little bit but leave very soon, he was good at slipping out of places. Kaden should go with him too since Landon also needing washing. But Kaden, of course, can stay a little bit at the dance too maybe even a bit longer if Landon doesn't cause any problems. Then after I spent a pretty good amount of time at the dance I might go see what the Trex group is up to. Bob could come along if he wanted to also. Maybe he would make things a bit more, liven things up. So I made a group chat to text them all.

Bob, Kaden, & Landon

Me: Hey you guys! Made a GC so I could tell you all something

Bob: Hello, what is it?

Landon: Yo yo my dude

Me: Kaden? And it's about Halloween

Kaden: I'm here, my bad.

Me: Well everyone so I think Landon should watch over the Trex group after we stay at the school dance a bit. Then Kaden can follow in Landon's lead too. Bob and I can stay at the school dance a bit longer then eventually I will come to check on you guys to see how things are going. And you can come too Bob

Landon: WAIT WHY ME?

Kaden: Yeah, why him?

Bob: Well um... I don't care either way.

Me: GUYS PLEASE and okay Bobby yo

Kaden: Yeah, alright.

Landon: I GUESS I'M KIND OF HONORREDD

Me: Lol

Bob: Don't. Ever. Call me. That. In your life.

Me: Woah there Bob...what about in my next life?

Bob: That's if you get a next life.

Landon: OOOOH LOOK AT BOB THREATENING PEOPLE
