That evening, the words she said rang and kept on ringing in my head that afternoon. Even when we got to our family villa, I kept on pondering and thinking about not just what happened to dad, but also what happened to aunty.
Her voice resonated with betrayal and pain. Normally, aunty is someone who hides her feelings, but this time, she really scared me. You could really see the horror in her eyes like she just saw ‘Chucky’ and ‘The Thing.’
At the villa, me and my mother first settled in and put away our stuff. I heard from dad that at 7:00 sharp they eat dinner and then discuss any family issue. I guess that’s why whenever I brought up the subject or ask about dad, everyone always changed the subject.
