“They’re going to clean the blades”, she said to herself as the other vampires left and watched in horror as the man who held Jonathan’s blade tried to force the blood down his throat.
The man had grabbed Jonathan’s jaw like you would with an animal to give it medicine. He had to drink the blood or else he was going to suffocate. Most of it spilled and ran down his jaw down to his chest and bloodied shirt, staining it. The man then left, too and silence returned to the room.
Sadie quickly rummaged around in her coat. Luckily, the vampires didn’t check her for any weapons, they really thought that they were civilians. She pulled out a few of her throwing knifes. With four calculated and precise throws, she severed the chains that were holding Jonathan pulled to the wall. He fell to his knees with a thud and had trouble getting up to stand. He managed to grab his blade, wobble towards the cage and open it up with a few hits with his blade.
“Can you make it outside?”, he asked Sadie.
“Yes, but we’re slow. Charlotte’s still hurt and they injured my leg.”
“I’ll get the artifact and catch up with you two.”
“No!”, Sadie hissed.
“We’ll return. You’ve been badly wounded and need help!”
“We can’t return, we-”
“This was an order, Jonathan!”
A slight smirk flashed over his lips. “Then I’m going to disobey you today.”
“I trust you”, Sadie said and helped Charlotte get up. “We’ll wait outside until Sergeij arrives.”
The women left the room through the door through which the vampires didn’t exit, which Jonathan did the exact opposite.
There were no Vampires in direct sight, so he continued upwards another staircase. His hand wet from blood, trying to clutch the hilt of his sword like his life depended on it and his legs weak and barely able to support his weight anymore. He had to use the stair-rail for support and pulled himself upward towards the light.
