Chapter 186
Zine stared at the book as students filed into the field and sat around on either the grass or in desks.
He wondered lightly if he should try to interact with them but decided to continue to read his book.
He heard someone walk towards him through the grass but continued to keep his nose down, trying to figure out how the words were pronounced.
A familiar light chuckle made him bring his eyes up.
“So studious you are my love...you could try to interact with more people if you would like to?”
Zine blinked and looked around. The other students were giving them excited looks and Zine blushed before putting the book down, marking his page.
Obsidian pulled a chair up to his desk and smiled at him.
“The book will remain but the people around will not?”
ZIne rolled his eyes.
“I don't need to hear that from you Mr. Evenmoreantisocial than I am?”
Obsidian laughed.
“Alright students! Gather over, we will begin class today in the grass so everyone sit down here.”
Zine stood up and left the book on the table.
Obsidian stayed in his chair and just turned it around to watch Zine walk towards the other students.
Zine found a spot to sit down in the back and his tail curled around him in a circle in the grass. His scales scraped against the plants with a shhhrch! noise.
“So, I am your teacher for the day Mr. Likewelt. We will begin by learning how to feel our magic source. I want you all to close your eyes and envision your magic source as a shallow pool before you.”
Zine closed his eyes and tried to feel around for said “pool”.
He envisioned a small pool, the water a soft white color that pulsed.
“I want you all to try getting closer to the pool.” The teacher said.
As Zine tried to clumsily make his way to said pool it seemed to shimmer and transform into a well.
Zine felt confused.
“I want you all to try to wade out into the pool.”
ZIne stared at his envisioned well and was pretty sure that if he tried he would drown.
He opened his eyes and looked around at the other students.
Grass and small flowers were slowly growing underneath them all, while soft glowing colors rippled around the students.
Okk…….. Zine thought and closed his eyes again, trying to awkwardly step into the well pool thing he had.
As his foot stepped in he tumbled forward into the well and felt himself choke as the magic surrounded him.
His brain seemed to almost explode from the pressure and he both heard and felt a rumble underneath him.
He stopped envisioning his pool and swept out a hand in front of him as he opened his eyes.
He was surrounded by tall grass. The grass was almost as tall as himself he realized as he stood up to poke his head over it.
Several students had done the same as the grass had all grown around them as well. They all had confused expressions.
“Alright…. Who was it that decided to let their magic pools explode?!” The teacher roared.
Zine blanched and ducked his head back down into the grass sheepishly.
…………………………………..
“Dont laugh at me.” Zine huffed as he walked back into the castle with Obsidian.
“I am not laughing my love.” Obsidians lips kept twitching the entire time as they walked back inside.
“Oh really? You look like someone tasered you with how much your face keeps spasming so I couldn't really tell.”
Obsidian roared with laughter and his stomach heaved as he bent over.
“What was that about not laughing at me?” Zine grumbled and shifted the magic book in his arms around.
Obsidian couldn't answer as he was trying to breath.
“Mhmmmmmm!!!!” Zine huffed.
“I! *wheeze* love you!” Obsidian huffed out.
ZIne grumbled and his tail scraped against the floor. His wings fluttered behind him as he shuffled in embarrassment, both from him saying he loved and from being laughed at.
