Kibo took out the item I gave her. Her hand gripped it tightly as she smiled to
us both. I nod to them as we head in different directions. The vines climbing
down the cliff almost made me want to give up. Every time I moved it was
almost like they wanted to entangle my entire body. This could be another
reason why most people stayed clear of this area.
Finally getting fed up I let go of the vines just free falling to the ground. I look
up to see that the others were making it just as well. Kibo took the high side
with many entrances. There looked to be caves which she could explore.
Bren took one of the middle areas that had too much growth for my taste. It
seemed he felt good climbing through it all.
Kibo climbed in one of the caves looking around. It looked like someone had
lived here maybe a few days ago. There was still the smell of blood on the
ground from their kills. The further that she walked the smell intensified.
She pushed the green jewel on the item Lain gave her. The light sword
allowed her to get a better view of the place. So far it looked like this place
had been part of a normal building. Yet to her a normal building was still like
the slave houses. She kept climbing down the tunnels till she heard
movement. There a little bit away from her stood a man with wild like eyes.
He snarled at her as she stepped back a little. He was a predator that was for
sure.
“Please stay away...”
The man didn’t seem to hear her words as he started to run towards her.
Kibo moved to evade the man at the same time slashing his back. He let out a
groan of pain as standing back up.
“We really don’t need to do this. I just want to explore is all.”
Yet again it was as if she was speaking to deaf ears.
His eyes looked more enraged then before as he started to shift into a bear.
“If this is what you want then so be it.”
Kibo ran towards the man jumping into the air; landing on his back plunging
the sword through his neck. She could hear the gurgling in his throat as he
growled in pain under her small body.
“You asked for this. If you had just stopped we wouldn’t be in this
predicament.”
She jumped off the bear as looking to it struggling to move. It fell at her feet
as she stroked it’s head.
“Sleep well.”
Her soft voice was very cold. She looked to the blood dripping off the sword
as if it was mesmerizing. Sniffing the air there was more people further
down this path. Kibo decided to head back up to avoid killing more people.
As she reached the surface the wind blew against her cheeks. It was a warm
wind that made her feel calm.
“Lain....Bren...be safe please? This place is filled with danger.”
Her soft voice was almost a whisper. She was afraid of losing them.
Bren knelt down in the growth to find a huge hole that was hidden from
sight. It looked as if the ground under had crumbled. He leaned his head into
the hole to see there was a huge structure still standing.
“What the hell is this place?”
Not even thinking he jumps down the hole landing on a ledge almost falling.
“Shit..that was a close one.”
Bren lets out a sigh of relief as looking around. It looked like none of the wild
people Lain spoke of even came here. Just then a smell lofts up to his nose.
It almost made him gag. It was like rotten flesh. Slowly he starts to climb
down the edges to get a closer look to the building. The closer he got the
worse the smell. Quickly he looks into the bag of stuff Lain had given him.
He finds a mask that will block out the smell.
“Thank what ever god wants to listen for Lain thinking ahead. Not sure
what made her think of this but I am grateful.”
He laughs a little to himself at looking to the entrance of the building. The
doors had long since been destroyed. It was weird that this building still
looked structurally sound.
Bren couldn’t understand why his hair wanted to raise. There was no danger
that was for certain. As he entered the building it looked like bodies were
still rotting on the floor.
“How in the....”
He couldn’t even finish his sentence looking to their clothes. It was apparent
that they died in ancient times. Bren leaned down looking at a watch on one
of the people. It read December 10, 6024. He couldn’t believe his eyes.
“How in the hell are they not dust? It has been a millenia.”
Bren stands up looking to the front desk starting to carefully look through
them. Sadly he couldn’t read any of the writings. Letting out a sigh he decides
it best to go to the surface. If he brought Lain down perhaps she could read
everything.
