Bloodshed. Screams of agony rang around her but all she could focus on was the dead man in her arms. Marie had come running out to be at his side and she too was a victim of the war, only feet from her betrothed. She tore her eyes from him to look around. Magic and weapons alike were being used to kill the other army, no one being safe from it.
She could feel anger bubbling up inside of her. Too many lives had been lost. Her beloved prince died at her feet. She couldn’t keep it inside any longer. A deafening scream erupted from her lungs, a blinding green light killing off any mortals who still stood radiating from her. She didn’t care that this woman was her mother. All she cared about was the man she loved.
Solara slowly levitated off the ground, staring at her mother with pure anger in her now glowing green eyes. “I cannot let you get away with this! You are no longer my mother!”
The witch stared up at her daughter, not caring for the fact that she had shown her tru colors for people who had tried to kill her. “Who are you protecting, Solara?! There is no one left! You finished them off!” She muttered a spell to try and throw her off but it didn’t seem to work.
“You have terrorized my family once! Who is to say you will not do it again?!” She muttered a spell, bringing her mother into the air with her. “I cannot stand for this. It was a mistake to give you your heart back. I will take it.” Before she could, she was thrown to the ground by an outside force.
“Eclipse!” Cosmo rushed forward to catch her before she hit the ground. “Solara! I did not think you would go this far!”
She picked herself up off the ground, her dress bloodied and torn. “I told you I would! You will pay for what you have done!” She brought vines up from the ground to hold them as she walked forward and broke into her mothers chest, pulling out her heart. Eclipse’s body went limp and Cosmo whined out in sadness.
She muttered a spell, taking the heart and sealing it in the crystal necklace she was wearing. “Cosmo, remove her from my sight and do not think about coming back for the heart a second time.” She released him from the vines and as she told him to, he took the limp body and took off with it.
Solara sighed, her eyes going back to their original hazel color. She looked around, finding Michael’s body and lifting it from the ground. She laid him next to the garden, digging two holes with her magic next to the roses where a fresh grave seemed to have already been made. “Richard, I do not know if you had anything to do with this, but I forgive you… You kept my secret…” She laid the prince’s body to rest before covering the hole. She had tears in her eyes at this point. “Michael… I loved you… I never got the chance to tell you… I hope we can meet in your next life and fall in love…” She took Marie’s body and buried it as well. “Marie… You would have made him a wonderful wife… I am sorry this fate came upon you…”
Once she finished, she looked at the graves and wiped the tears from her cheeks, turning into a cat and running off into the forest, leaving the castle and all the memories and loved ones she had made behind.
