"When we reach 1000 we can make a wish." The boy said. "Yeah!" His lover said excitedly. They only had 100 done so it would take quite a long time. Apparently it was too long for the smaller boy.
"I WISH WE NEVER STARTED MAKING THESE!" The boy screamed and his lover winced. "B-but.." He started but was quiet when the boy glared at him. "I'm done with everything." He muttered and stomped out of the room.
His lover sighed. He was used to the outbursts. It had been years and they had only made it to 900. He folded the last on and hung it on the string. The room was filled with them, swaying in the light breeze that went through the open doors.
He knew that his lover would probably never come back. He sighed and walked through to rows of them making his wish. I wish that he could be happy in this moment. The boy thought and immediately fell down, his heart stopping. Many people just thought it was a horrible accident but his lover knew better.
He stared at the rows of cranes and looked at the markings of numbers. He let out a small gasp when he made it to 1000. He felt thee tears flow down his face when he realized what the boy had done. They weren't boys anymore though. They were men.
What he didn't know was that his lover was in the clouds watching over him. He watched as the man fell into a dark hole of regret. The years passed slowly as the man fell deeper and deeper thinking it was his fault the only person he loved died.
"It's his time." The reaper said as his lover tried to stop him from taking the soul away from him forever. "NO IT CAN'T." The angel cried out and his white feathers slowly withered away. He made a desperate attempt to save his lover before the reaper took him away forever.
His angelic halo broke in two and he sprouted horns. "YOU CAN'T." He bellowed and immediately was whisked away to Hell. He had to watch as his lover died and floated up to heaven. "If you just had faith in him." The reaper said and snapped his fingers, making the boy vanish into thin air.
~Moral of le story, as much as you want to help, have faith that they will be ok.~
