The Kingdom of Boheme

Chapter 2: The Room

Chapter 2: The Room

Jun 07, 2019

The next day, I am woken by my maters yelling. “ Servant girl! Servant girl, we must leave immediately! “

I’m flustered and running about trying to gather myself before I make my master even angrier. I run to the carriage awaiting my arrival outside where I see my mother and master waiting for me in a disapproving look. Luckily, I get off with a slap on the wrist and we ride off to the King’s castle for Master Octavius's meeting with the king.

We arrive a the castle, the same pearl white castle with an arched entrance that seemed ever so welcoming. And inside was absolutely marvelous with paintings of past kings and queens coming all the way down to the current King and his son, Prince Eric. Master Octavious turns to me, “ Now you listen to me girl. You will tend to the prince while I have a meeting with the King, alright!” he sputtered. I nodded in agreement and rushed to the Princes room. I walked up marble staircases and blue painted hallway, finally reaching the princes' room. I knocked on the door.

“ Sir,” I began then I immediately remembered “ I mean, my liege, may I enter? “

There was a long silence and then the words enter sounded through the amber colored doors. I walked in timidly with my head low. “ I’m here to serve you for the day, majesty. “ Prince Eric was reading a book, I assumed a history book, he looked upon me with disgust, then went back to his book.

“ Bring me a glass of wine, “ he spoke.

I nodded my head,” Yes, majesty “ and left the room in a rush. I scurried along the blue hallways and down the marble staircases to the kitchen where my mother was. I approached her, “ Mother, where is the wine?"

“ Check in the little nook on the right.”

There was a small little wooden door, with a handle. I opened it and there were so many bottles that looked so old and expensive. There was more bottle than the masters. So I looked through the dusty old bottle and grabbed one that said, Moscato, then grabbed a glass of wine and placed it and the bottle of wine on a silver platter. Then scurried back to the Princes room. I knocked on the door trying my best not to drop the wine bottle. The words enter bellowed through the door like before and I entered to room. Instead of him reading the book like before he was on his bed, almost seeming like he was waiting for me in an impatient manner.

“ Here’s your wine, sir I mean majesty. “

Prince Eric squinted his eyes at me almost in anger, but then went back to a calm manner. “ Bring me my wine, “ he spoke at last.

I poured him a glass wine and brought it to him. He took it from me and began to drink.

” pour me another. “ he demanded. I took his glass and poured him another one. Drank that one also quickly.

He spoke, “ My father is very ill. I fear he is on the brink of death. “ he sipped his wine. “ This means I am to be king soon and soon I must have a child to take my place when I’m old.” He looked at me in a weird manner. “ That means I must find a queen to bear my child. “ he touches my hand. I flinch.

“I have no idea what you’re implying sir. “ I gasp and look down.

He rises from his bed and touches my face making me flinch again wondering if he was going to strike me. He leans in and whispers, “ I told you to call me my liege or your majesty. “ He pushes me to the bed and holds me down. “ What do you say, would you like to bear my child?” I’m scared, "No majesty I shall not!” and I kick him off me, running down the flight of stairs to my mother, I told her everything that happened and we had to leave now. My mother was so confused but I guess saw the worry in my eyes and agreed to leave with me.
