My mother, father and I are currently living in a small house we managed to purchased after working for two months in a tough workplace, the sewing and lumber industry. We never had the chance to learn sewing, so we had to learn quickly in order to make some money. As for my father, he was used to the labor of curring lumber, so it was fairly easy for him. But after those long hard months, we purchased our own house and made a comfortable living for ourselves that we never got to have. 

My mother made hobbies for herself such as chess, gardening, and cleaning for entertainment. My father liked adding new features to our home, and culinary hobbies. Unfortunately a three months later, father died from old age. Since we no longer had Father for protection and security, I had only one main hobby. For myself, I practiced fighting and sword fighting in case of trouble or if our past came to haunt us.

 One particular afternoon I was outside practicing with my sword in hand when it was actually a stick, attacking a dummy made of hay. My mother was calling me in for dinner. “ Delilah “ she beckoned “ Come in for dinner, hon! “ 

I responded “ I’m coming! “ I left, but from the corner of my eye, I noticed a man staring at me. He looked angry. I turned to face him but as I turned he stopped staring and returned to what could be his home. I stared confused but ran back to my home. My mother and I enjoyed a nice dinner together of lobster and greens we grew in our garden then retired to our bedrooms for a days slumber.

 In the morning I woke up to see Mother with a horrified look in the kitchen. I asked her what was wrong, and she looked at me, pale as ever. “ Delilah, I was in the market and there are whispers on the street. “

 I looked at her curiously. “ Whispers on the street? About what?” 

“ There are whispers about you being a fugitive in the land. By order of Prince Eric.”

 I thought to myself, “ Damn that man, months of living here, he wants to come along and mess things up. “Suddenly there was I knock on the door. 

My mother opens the door and three tall soldiers march in and one of them who seems to be the leader steps forward. 

“ Is this the home of Delilah Faye and Jane Faye?” My mother nodded her head, yes and the other two soldiers stepped forward and placed handcuffs on my mother and I. 

“ What is the meaning of this?” my mother questioned. “ Mrs. Faye you and your daughter are under arrest for assassination against the king and his son.“ 

My mother faced reddened with anger. “ You can’t do this! We are in a new kingdom! “ she shouted with rage. 

The leading soldier looked at her with an eyebrow raised. “So, you will also be charged with illegal immigration.” 

 At this point, we were being dragged out of the home that we worked so hard to get outside. Villagers started to stop and stare, it was almost as if they enjoyed watching our misery. We were thrown into a jail carriage and then escorted out of the kingdom of Zoricus. My mother and I were treading down a very dark path back to the Kingdom of Boheme.
