Amber's Stretch Juneself

Day 4: Beverage

Day 4: Beverage

Jun 04, 2019

There are many ways to make tea. From choosing the brewing method to selecting the best tea type from a wide selection of tea: white, green, black, oolong, herbal, berry flavoured, cupcake flavoured… You name it and there’s probably a tea flavour about it.

Probably the easiest way to make tea is to put a tea bag in a mug and pour hot water over it. Let the tea bag enjoy the warm bath for a little while and take it out. No problems there. Nice and easy. You can even reuse the tea bag if you’re stingy with money or don’t want to enjoy good tea after the first cup.

You can also make the tea while the water is still boiling in the kettle. Just put the tea and, if you want to be experimental, some spices or even dried fruit in the kettle. You have a good chance to test and season your tea to perfection before it’s even finished. If you like milk with your tea, you can put it in the kettle too and boil it together with water.

The patient ones can try cold-brewing their tea. One teaspoon of tea leaves or one tea bag per one litre of water (put more if you want stronger tea) and then let it chill in the fridge for at least a few hours, preferably overnight. Works miracles on a hot summer day when you want tea but don’t want to be cooked from the outside and the inside.

There is, however, one way of making tea no one should never ever try (especially if you have a British partner and they can see when you make the tea). You must never put the water in the microwave. No, you must boil the water in a kettle whether it’s normal or electric one. Microwaved water just causes sadness. The water is disappointingly lukewarm while the mug is most likely scorching hot and you need oven gloves to handle it. Not cool, literally.

So, the most important thing while making tea is to remember that there are many good ways and one wrong way to make tea. Also, tea biscuits. Don’t forget them.

I don't actually drink tea so take this advice with a little grain of salt even though I did research.
The last bit of advice is accurate though. Don't microwave tea ;)

This series is meant for sharing my creations for the "Stretch Juneself" challenge made by Rodimus13 on the Tapas forum.

My goal is to post every day for the month of June with a text related to that days topic.

I want to share this as a series because there will be many different themes and styles of writing in here I think you might enjoy as well. Also you will most likely see some of my old and current OCs and those that possibly appear in future series as well.

If you enjoy reading these prompts, maybe try it yourself. All the links will be in the description of the first episode.
