Every hand in the world is unique. From the fingerprints to the size and shape of the hand, there are no two hands that are similar. There are big hands and there are small hands. Hands with long and elegant fingers suitable for a pianist and hands with short fingers that struggle with doing delicate and fiddly tasks.
Someone’s hands have tough skin and calluses on them from tough physical labour when someone else has smooth and soft skin from lighter office work . Old people may have dry and veiny hands with knobby fingers from arthritis, while new-born baby has soft tiny hands and tiny fingers, only big enough to wrap them around their grandparent’s finger.
Some people have hands that are always cold no matter how warm it is, while some people never need to wear gloves because their hands are always warm. There are long nails, short nails, natural nails, painted nails, missing fingers and extra fingers, scars, tattoos, so many things that make our hands unique. They say you can even tell person’s future by looking at the lines on their palms.
There are so many different hands in the world, unique to their owner and telling their story. They do still have one thing in common. When the hand belongs to someone you love, even the lightest touch can make your heart flutter.
