Scott let out a long sigh as he shrugged off his blazer. His feet dragged across the plush carpet as he headed towards his room. Who knew meeting thirty people in one day would be so exhausting? Fortunately, he'd gotten to have one last dinner alone while the suitors had been taught basic etiquette in another banquet hall. Not that he'd really enjoyed it, all he was thinking about was them the entire time.
He entered his room, throwing the blazer hapharzardly toward the closet. He didn't even notice someone sitting on his bed until his tie had joined the blazer, and his shirt was half unbuttoned.
Scott started, letting out a small yelp before realizing who it was. "Oh shit, you scared me, Colin. What are you doing here?" He let out a breathy laugh. It was a little odd that he was in his room, they hadn't slept together in at least a month and a half.
Next thing he knew, Colin was looming over him, eyes boring into him with a glare. "Explain this." The Alpha growled, pushing some sort of magazine cover towards his chest.
Scott furrowed his brows as he clumsily took it, eyes scanning over the headline. "The New King's Secret Lover?" Below it was a somewhat grainy picture of himself with his head thrown back, hands tangled in Colin's hair whose head was at his crotch. Alongside it was "32 Tips On How To Give An Amazing Blow Job!" and "Manscaping: Is It Really Important?"
His cheeks grew steadily hot as he read, heart hammering against his ribcage. According to the date on the bottom, this was going to be released tomorrow.
"Well?" Colin demanded thunderously, not bothering to keep his voice down. "What if Annie sees this, huh? What then?"
Scott did not answer immediately, shocked by the image as well as Colin's words. The entire kingdom would be seeing this, not just his mate. This was a popular magazine company as well, no doubt the news would spread like wildfire. Maybe he could shut down the company before it went out? No, no doubt thousands of copies were already sitting in the storage of every news stand, grocery store, and gas station across the country, waiting to go on the shelves tomorrow morning. He felt his stomach drop. There was no way to stop this from leaking.
Apparently, he was taking too long because suddenly, Colin's fist went through the drywall next to his head. He was shaking with rage. "Answer me, damnit!"
"I-I don't know what you want me to s-say." Scott stammered, beginning to tremble himself. It was stupid, but at the moment he was more upset that Colin's anger was directed towards him than the actual predicament itself. "It s-seems like the magazine doesn't know who y-you are."
"You think I give a rat's ass about that? Annie already suspects me of cheating. And when she sees this?" The look in Colin's eyes were murderous. He'd never seen the man so angey. Scott had begun slowly backing up, scared of what might happen if he didn't leave soon. "If you weren't such a fucking whore then maybe-"
Scott didn't get to hear the rest of that sentence because he'd turned and fled the room. He wasn't quite sure where his feet were taking him, but as long as it was away, he didn't care. The guards didn't stop him, as he sobbed, running down corridors and bumping into a few expensive vases that would have to be replaced. No doubt word of this would go around as well. He felt so pathetic.
He rounded a corner a few flights down, squeezing his eyes shut as he tried to shake Colin's angry expression from his mind. Suddenly he collided with something hard, falling right on his backside. The thing he ran into crashed into the floor with a loud groan.
Could this night get any worse?
