This is it. The end of me. I have nothing else to live for. I step on to the ledge, my frizzy black hair blows in my face along with the dress I’ve chosen for this day. My dress was light blue with small white dots on it. I wore white leggings to complement the dress. And black shoes to fo with my hair and eyes. For me, this was a beautiful outfit to die in. I take a deep breath and exhale. I tilt forward and my feet barely leave the ledge, until he caught me.
I gasped for a moment and glanced back, he was smiling. “ I won’t let you fall, “ he spoke. My brown eyes interlocked with his blue eyes. My eyes welled up with tears. “ You care?” I asked. He nods and pulls me back up. We’re so close together, his short brown hair is blowing into my face. We inch closer it seems like we're about to kiss.
I wake up, gasping for air. What was he doing there? I reflected. Why did he save me? I checked my clock for the time, 6 am. I have 30 minutes until I have to get up for school. I pulled my phone from underneath my pillow and went to Instagram. I scrolled through all the pictures of stunning girls and handsome boys with more marvelous and interesting lives than me. All these people have so many followers. I could never compare to them.
I wish I had more followers or at least some social status at school. Nobody even realizes I exist. I’m a shadow in the background. I continue scrolling through the social media app and some time passes and the sun starts to rise. I view at the time, 6:28 am. I gotta get ready for school.
I go through my routine in the morning, my regular never-changing routine. I hop into the shower, unfortunately, took quickly the water was freezing cold. I dry off quickly and place on my personal hygiene then place on some clothes. My usual style of a black shirt and a pair of jeans. I never liked standing out. Next, get hair maintained, I place my frizzy hair in a black headband and try to flatten out my hair a little with my hands. Didn’t work much, but was worth the try. I grab my navy blue backpack from the corner of my room and rush downstairs to get some breakfast. Breakfast consisted of microwaved waffles and sausage, and leave outside to the garage and grab my old silver bike to ride to school.
My school isn’t that far away, its a 15-minute bike ride from my home. I love the bike ride it's my favorite part of the day. Being outside with the trees, fresh air, the wind blowing my frizzy hair out my face. To me it was always beautiful at this time of year, it was fall. Fall was always my favorite season it was always, peaceful. Before getting to school dealing with bullies and being cooped up in a humid classroom. I just enjoy the ride before I get there.
I walk inside the building, Broadmoore High School. There are so many people it's unbearable. They’re all a large sea of people, and I a small boat drifting among them.
First class is English, so I make my way to room 304. As I’m walking I ran into a friend of mine, although she considers being my friend. “ Hey, Jean! “ she exclaimed. Her curly red hair was a mess, but she’s lucky her black glasses go well with that characteristic.
I roll my eyes, “ Hey, Amy” I remarked with a slight tone.
“ Hey, did you hear about Tony and Maria oh my gosh so much drama! Let me tell you about..” I slowly drift off not paying attention one bit.
“ Hey, Amy I gotta get to my class, okay.” I slowly start stepping away backward. “ Oh, wait but you’re about to miss the best part! “ she exclaimed.
“ Huh, I can’t hear you. “ I say sarcastically, still stepping away. I finally don’t see Amy in my view, I take a sigh of relief. I turn to face forward and I bump into a boy “ My bad, I wasn’t watching where I was…” I stop mid-sentence. “ I-It’s you? From my dream…” I stare at him with bewilderment.
“ Excuse me, what did you say, “ he responded.
I stuttered, “ Oh I uh, was saying I was sorry for bumping into you, “ I panicked “I gotta go!” I rushed to my English class. But I'm pretty sure if I turned around he was staring at me with wide curious blue eyes.
