CALLISTO'S POV
The moment we burst out the doors I gripped Kae tight and made my way through the busy urban sidewalks, constantly whipping my head around making sure I was as far away from that man as possible.
“Cal can you please enlighten me as to why your running away from your brother. Or at least tell me why you haven’t told me until now that you had one?” she said while I ducked passed a few shops until we reached a boutique and I reluctantly shoved the poor girl in with a nervous grin.
“Kaelene dear its… complicated and I’m not avoiding him, you will, because he’s trouble, and I want you nowhere near him, so find some clothes for our night out in a few hours and don’t come out till I say so.”
While my friend was occupied with a pile of clothes I ransacked into the nearest dressing room, I made my way towards a smug looking Caspian standing towards the doorway waiting patiently. “It’s only been almost a millennium since we’ve seen each other sister I’ve missed you so much why run away?” he looked over at me with the same indifferent face but mischievous eyes that’s always comforted my heart from the day I was born. My brother, a trouble maker of a man with the perfect suaveness that a pure blooded incubus should have; but deep-down with a caring heart despite the cruelty he always seems to give, always better than me. I who is just a failure half-blood but one he’s always protected, hence being the reason, I drag him out of the store despite the barks of protests I was given and lead him just a block away towards a nearby alleyway.
“How did you find me Caspian." I said sternly.
“You didn’t try hard enough not to be found, sister” he replied as he pointed up to what looked to be some kind of brown bird perched upon a building ledge staring quite intently at the both of us, “ No need to worry she’s a loyal one to only you and I."
Huh, a familiar I would have never thought of that. My brother then continued on as to why he entered the human realm; to follow fathers orders on looking for some type of soul which in his words he was taking his sweet time in because in coming here, it was just another excuse to find me.
He finished his speech and in turn waited for a response.
I didn’t know what to say, the brother who I thought abandoned me the same way our father had was truly missing me, searching for me this whole time. Looking from the outside he looks to be a lot to handle which he is, but in reality, he's still that small boy on the inside always looking for his little sister to care for and love the way his parents couldn’t. Reaching out and wrapping my arms around his strong body I embraced my sibling I hadn’t had for 400 years.
“Thank you for finding me Caspian. You have no idea how hard it was without anyone.” Squeezing him tight and getting the familiar scent of night jasmine from him, he hugged me back gently nuzzling his face in my hair and murmured slightly.
“I know, it must have been difficult but at least I’m here now, and this time I won’t leave you again." He chuckled softly as he pulled away, "But seriously? You went with Callisto as your alias? You could have gone with any other name, but you choose the one I gave you as a kid since I couldn't pronounce your birth name?." Hearing that I had no choice but to flick his forehead making him wince slightly.
"Cas, nobody in this world can pronounce my true name but the people of the sirens," I laughed, "it was still cute when you tried all off key though."
