“Oh, but here’s the thing, my friend sent me a picture of the guy I described, he’s going to act like the guy who saved me, but my friend kind of wants real answers. Now this is completely up to you, and she is 100% trustworthy, but I was wondering, will you meet her?” She looked up at him trying to see any form of a reaction. He was silent for a moment.
She heard him sigh, “I know I was angry before that you didn’t tell the truth about me but thinking on it now your point was extremely valid. I could put everyone in danger…” he paused.
“Oh…” she said.
“Although if I get to know more humans maybe I can show the others that they aren’t all bad, maybe I can change the way the others think.” He walked behind her, “What’s more, if you trust her it should be safe, and I guess if 2 girls started blabbing about invisible rain boys, people would just think you’re crazy.” he faced Ahnali, “I’ll meet her.” instantly, Ahnali became really happy.
“Yay!” she turned to away and began walking inside, “Ok, I need to pack, why don’t you come inside, I won’t be too long.” She took his hand and led him into her room. “You can sit on the bed...if you put your feet on the bed make sure to take off your shoes.” She went about her room, grabbing a backpack, stuffing some clothes and accessories in it, grabbing some makeup and toiletries. She paused and looked over at the dent in her bed “Will I need a raincoat?” she said jokingly.
“Are you planning another daring escapade through the streets of the city?” he asked
“No?”
“Then no.”
“Yes?” she asked playfully,
“Then I might just have to let it pour so all the low lives can’t even see you, you might want rain boots in that case.” she laughed and continued packing her bag. “Ok, last thing is her game, I need to return it. There, done.”
“How much stuff do you need?”
“Well I usually go for a few days...but I’m moving into my dorm on Monday,” she paused, shocked by the word, it filled her with despair, but she shook off the feeling and continued “I’m in a special program and have to go early. So I figure I'll stay with her tonight, Saturday and come back late Sunday.” she smiled “ready to go? Peter is going to drop me off, you can ride with me, I can put up the divider so we can talk.” He was quiet, “you don’t have to though” she added.
“No! Sorry,” he said quickly “ I want to...I just felt a little worried is all.” She sat down next to him, “
Worried about what?” he took a deep breath and let out a big sigh.
“You’re the first human I’ve ever talked to or touched. This is the first time I’ve ever been inside a building, now I’m going to meet another human and tell her everything. I’m going to travel by car, rather than flying or walking...I guess I just got a little overwhelmed. I’m ok with all of this, it’s just a lot.” She wanted to grab his hand but had no idea where it was.
“Hey, we don’t have to tell her everything about you, and you don’t have to go in the car, you don’t have to do anything you’re not comfortable with. That’s why I always ask if you’re ok with everything.” She smiled looking in his direction. She thought she felt him gently stroke her cheek but she wasn’t sure. “Haha, so I’ll ask again, wanna meet my friend?”
“Absolutely.”
“Ok, how about going in the car?”
“Let’s do it.” his voice sounded much calmer and more confident. She stood up and held out her hand, waiting for him to take it. “Remember, don’t say anything until I can get the divider up.” he stood up and took her hand,
“promise.”
