Alan's pov
Stacie nodded gently and sighed. I frowned slightly as she looked around. Then I noticed Bob was gone so was Sawyer. But I managed to see Sawyer walking through crowds but ended up losing sight of him.
"Is this dance good?" I heard Stacie ask causing me to turn my attention to her.
"Yes, it's great. Everyone is smiling well except some people." I mumble looking around. "But most people are chatting, eating, and dancing. Only a few people are just standing about looking lonely or bored." I answer but her sad expression on her face doesn't leave.
"I just want things to be perfect," she replied messing with her sleeves that showed her skin.
"Well, I think perfection isn't everything. Maybe that's the problem your seeing. You're trying to make everything perfect. This isn't a prom or anything. Sawyer's activity ideas will make this dance better." I said grinning and she huffed.
"So his ideas are better than mine," she responded and my eyes widen.
"Wait wait, no that's not what-" I began to explain.
"I'm kidding." she laughed putting her hands down from her sleeves. "I think Sawyer and you really made this dance better," she said glancing at me and smiled causing my face to grow hot as I swallowed.
"Well, it was mostly Sawyer." I rushed throughout my sentence without a pause to breathe and she laughed again making me smile a bit.
"I think every little thing helped. Well I hope to see you participating in the activities." she smiled at me and we ended up meeting eyes, staring at each other for a while.
"Yeah," I replied and she nodded turning away and walked off but she turned back and looked at me then smiled.
That felt like an arrow shot right into my heart. And I'm sure my face was pink and I was smiling big. My cheeks hurt so it proved one of those statements. I shook my head to myself but I couldn't stop smiling. But either way, I was curious where Bob went and started to look around for him.
Walking around I found Bob near the snack tables. I was about to run up to him but Sawyer and he were talking. When Sawyer walked away I made my way over. Bob looked up and his eyes widen a bit but didn't stay that way for long.
"Hey I thought you were talking with Stacie," Bob says eating some weird looking jello cube.
"Yeah I was," I said as I felt my phone vibrate and I took it out to see I got a text. "Hold on a sec," I said and Bob nodded turning away helping himself to more jello cubes.
Kaden
Kaden: Hey I'm on my way. Get ready to leave. Landon is alone there but I decided to check out the dance.
Me: Alright and thanks dude
Kaden: No problem.
I turned off my phone and put it away. Bob seemed to be hungry since he was eating all that nasty jello. And I could have sworn there was weird creepy sandwiches with the menu. That would probably stop his hunger. Maybe they were on another set of tables.
"Why are you staring at my plate?" Bob grumbled and I blinked looking up at him.
"My bad wasn't trying to. Um, I think there are some sandwiches somewhere. I can go look for some for ya." I responded and he shook his head finishing off the last cubes of jello before throwing away his plate.
"It's fine but thank you," he said getting some red liquid from the punch bowl into his cup.
"Well, I think the guys probably have some food too. That's if you want to go there." I suggested as he took a sip narrowing his eyes at me behind the cup.
"I'm fine Alan, sure let's go. I don't have anything better to do," he said and finished the drink then threw away the cup.
"Probably should have recycled that, Stacie will make us clean that and she likes..." I trailed off as Bob glared at me.
"Your right but I didn't see any recycling bins and Stacie also probably doesn't want you to go this soon. You practically just got here." he scoffed and I opened my mouth to reply as Kaden walked in.
"Woah it actually looks nice here," Kaden commented when walking over to us and looking around.
"Glad you like it, ready to go?" I ask and he blinks.
"Oh yeah, well I just got here. Let me check out the drinks and food. Hope no one spiked it." he said with a eye roll and made his way to the tables with food.
"Are you upset about something?" I ask glancing at Bob.
"A little but I just feel uncomfortable," Bob replied looking over at the trashcan instead of me.
"Oh is it about not recycling?" I ask and he turns toward me glaring. "What?"
"You're a complete imbecile sometimes," he replied and I huffed.
"Well excuse me for caring," I said as Kaden made his way to us with a plate and cup.
"Food is okay and drinks aren't spiked. So that's a plus." Kaden said smiling a bit before taking a sip.
"Let's go now," I grunted and headed to the doors.
"Right Landon can't be left alone too long." I heard Kaden say behind me.
"Are you coming along Bob?" I asked opening the door turning to see Kaden and Bob walking to me.
"I coming I said," Bob replied walking out of the door I held open and Kaden followed behind him.
"Where are you going?" I heard a voice ask and turned to see Sawyer, letting out a breath of relief.
"Just take care of things for me, don't let Stacie know I'm gone," I said and he crossed his arms.
"You didn't answer my question and we're short on helping hands. How can she not notice?" he replied.
"Just help me out here. I'll owe you one." I pleaded and he sighed.
"I'll try," he said and I grinned.
"You're the best!" I said and his eyes widen as I shut the door running to catch up with Kaden and Bob.
