The sun had risen again once more, the snow had stopped falling from the cold blue skies and Aaron and James where still next to the warm burnt out fire. Aaron woke up first and James was still asleep on his shoulder, then Aaron heard some noise from the kitchen and got up laying James’ head on the sofa and went to see what the noise was about. It was James’ Dad making himself a cup of tea. Aaron said, “Good Morning” but James’ Dad did not reply, Aaron was confused and thought that maybe James’s Dad did not hear him. James’ Dad sat by the table and asked Aaron if he could sit down with him so they could talk.

(Aaron) “So um what did you want to talk about?”

(Dad) *Sigh* “I saw you and James last night next to each other on the sofa and I wanted to ask you...”

(Aaron) “Yes?”

(Dad) “I wanted to ask you what kind of feelings you have for my son?”

(Aaron) “Oh...you saw us k..”

(Dad) “Yes! I...I did that’s why I wanted to ask you what kind of feeling you have for him.”

(Aaron) “I love him Sir. Do you have a problem that James is dating me or a guy?”

(Dad) “No I don’t have a problem with you dating my son or that he's dating a guy”

*Aaron sighs with relief*

(Dad) “But others do, so I’m warning you to be very careful when doing that kind of stuff around people, I've seen how horrible people can get and what they’ll do to protect their beliefs. So, what I am asking of you is to protect him no matter what!”

(Aaron) “Sir I would never think of anything else to do but protect him”

(Dad) “Thank you Aaron, I see now why he chose you out of all people”

Aaron and James’ Dad had an understanding and Aaron was relieved that James’s Dad was not a gay hater as the churches in Dartmoor where extremely catholic and where very Homophobic saying “GOD HATES FAG!” “GAYS ARE THE WORK OF THE DEVIL, THEY MUST BE CLEANSED!” And all that proper-gander it was a horrible thing that most of the people in the UK still believed, even though measures were being taken so all gay people had the same rights as a “normal” person. To be honest it was really patronizing, but at least something was being done. Now back to Aaron and James. James had just woken up and was looking very droopy and hangary, so Aaron and James’ Dad did some cooking for him and his brother and sister it was scrambled egg and bacon sandwich, mmmm now I’m starting to feel hangary (Hangary = Hungry and Angry).
