Kaes Pov
You know being shoved in a dressing room with the gaudiest of outfits is not how I expected to be treated when being in the same atmosphere Cals mysterious brother. But I figured it had to be years since Cal has seen her brother not that I knew she ever had one. She was always super private about her personal life, and now that I think about it I really don’t know much about her other than she transferred to my high school freshmen year 8 years ago had no family or so I thought and was always one to be the one who breathed life into a room where ever she went, completely opposite of me but we just clicked somehow. I guess our friendship would have never blossomed if it weren’t for that history project we were stuck together with, and I’ve always been thankful for it too.
God, it took me a good thirty minutes to try everything on; too much pink and sparkles ugh… damn you Calisto. But I guess as I looked in the mirror with the last dress I put on I have to say, I looked damn good.
A black chiffon dress with see-through lace across my collarbone leaving my shoulders exposed but tight black laced sleeves gripping my arms down to my wrist. I was never the type to have any part of me typically exposed just cause I’m far more comfortable in athleisure wear, however feeling the semi-tight material only running down to my thighs leaving my legs, well out they're kind of gave me some much-needed overdue confidence. Turning around I see that my back is semi-exposed save for my birthmark covered by my hair, but the dress really hugged my curves in all the right places.
I heard Cal's voice entering the shop telling her brother to wait outside along with his protests and him insisting he waits inside due to the poor weather, all the while the sun is setting and its only 79 degrees outside.
“Hey Kae, are you ready? Have u picked something? Definitely hoping its something pink!” Cal squealed with delight.
“Yes, I hope you like it but definitely not pink.” I took a couple of deep breaths and pushed the dressing curtain to the side meeting looks of surprise and borderline tears from Cal while her brother was leaned against a mannequin with a seemingly intrigued look in his eyes, but the rest of his face was left blank.
“OMG Kalene you look freaking hot! Amazing! Stunning! Your tan skin with the black, the see-through lace! And my gods your legs that haven’t seen the sun in a millennium I’m almost gonna cry!”
Cal shrieked and squealed while running up to me and giving me the biggest equivalent of a bear hug the petite girl could muster almost knocking the breath out of me along with the overpowering rose that her blonde locks always smelled of. I clawed her off gently and let out an exasperated sigh “Now Cal why don’t you have that same reaction whenever I wear my joggers” my friend and I then proceeded to look right at each other and started laughing inappropriately loud across the semi-empty boutique.
“Oh hun you know I love you in whatever it is you choose to wear but I must say now that I see this-this does show a bit of skin, are you comfortable?” She asked making her way to a casual coat aisle for possible options for my modesty. I had to crack a smile given the circumstances, after all, I felt that if I even wore spaghetti straps Cal would maul every coat factory to cover me up a bit, her protectiveness can rival that of a certain Payton I know.
“No need for that sister” the seemingly quite man leaned off his plastic friend and made his way towards me stripping off his black leather jacket and placed it over my shoulders gently.
“You can go ahead and use mine, but I don’t believe we’ve been properly introduced.” He stood in front of me blocking my view of Cals annoyed looking face with hands clutching a small puffy pink jacket. The sibling proceeded to then reach his hand out in front of him.
“My name is Caspian I’m Calistos brother and its quite the pleasure meeting you, please call me Cas.”
