WARNING: VIOLENCE
Ben's POV
My Dad came back into the kitchen and began to eat. Oliver held up his hand with his pointer finger sticking up,
"First step to operation bro-chill, we have to get your stuff to my house silently, your mom won't approve of you going to my house much less if you're never coming back."
My Dad choked on his orange juice,
"Bro-chill?"
Oliver nodded and my Dad smirked,
"Niiiice."
Everyone at the counter started laughing.
"Step two, you move in, are you okay if you're in a guest room?"
I nodded and Oliver continued,
"Step three, there is no step three."
My Dad and I nod. Oliver finishes his breakfast,
"Where does your mom live, also is it a house, apartment?"
"It's a two-story house on X street."
Oliver nodded thinking,
"Now I know this may seem extreme, but I want you to sneak in, if you have a key, and pack up your stuff with the door barricaded. If there's a window in your room I want you to toss your stuff out the window to me. We'll need your dad as a get-away driver, just in case."
My Dad and I nodded. My Dad looked at Oliver and I,
"You want to do it today? Your mom still goes out every Saturday, right?"
I nodded and Oliver smiled,
"Then let's hurry and get ready."
My Dad took out his phone,
"I'm going to call a buddy at the police station to warn them a call might come in for a missing boy by the name of Ben Coltin son of Mary Long but he's safe."
Oliver nodded as my Dad left the room. When he left Oliver took out his phone,
"When you're in there, I would like if you were on the phone with me."
I nodded, I figured I would be more comfortable having him on the phone with me,
"All I need it my clothes, basic necessities, and schoolwork."
Just then my Dad came back in and nodded to us. I went into my room and changed into normal clothes and everyone got in the car. I had my spare key in my pocket. The ride there was silent, my knee bounced up and down as a nervously twiddled my thumbs. Oliver grabbed my hand and started rubbing circles in the back,
"Don't worry I'll protect you if it comes down to it, okay?"
I nodded letting Oliver's fingers comfort me. We made it to the house and Oliver stood underneath the window as I snuck in. And by snuck in I used my house keys and unlocked the door and walked inside.
I had already called Oliver and had my phone in my pocket, I tip toed up the stairs and made it into my room, I locked the door and pushed my nightstand in front of it.
I grabbed my duffle bag and shoved all my clothes from my dresser in it. I then put my toothbrush, toothpaste and hairbrush in the bag. I pushed open the window I threw the bag down to Oliver just as someone started banging in the bedroom door. I reached into my pocket as I threw my backpack out the window,
"Um Oliver did Dad come in the house?"
I heard a hesitation then he answered,
"No, jump out the window, NOW!"
I heard my mom screaming as I climbed out the window onto the roof.
"BEN HOW DARE YOU TRY TO ESACPE, YOUR PUNISHMENT WILL BE 100 TIMES OF WHAT IT WAS!"
My heart was pounding as I slid to the edge just as my door was broke down making the nightstand fall over. I heard Oliver screaming at me,
"JUMP I'LL CATCH YOU!"
I jumped down feeling air swoosh all around me. I felt Oliver catch me and we fell into the grass. Oliver pulled me up as we scrambled grabbing my bags. Oliver opened the door and threw my stuff inside and I dived into the car with my backpack on. My Dad was trying to start his car as it rumbled. Oliver shut the door but as soon as he did my mom was running towards the window with a knife in her hands. The car roared to life as I felt Oliver cover me as the window was broken and a hand with a knife appeared,
"Go! Go! GO!"
Oliver yelled as my dad stepped on it, we heard my mom screaming curses as we tore off. Oliver sat up wincing and I gasped seeing Oliver's face. His face and shoulder were bloodied. He had shards of glass sticking out of his neck and cheek. My Dad glanced in the mirror and growled,
"Let's get you to the hospital and Ben don't remove those shards, we might make it worse."
I held Oliver's face,
"This was stupid we shouldn't have come."
Oliver shook his head,
"Nope, I said I'd protect you and that's what I did."
I noticed there were some shards in his back,
"There are even shards in your back no leaning against the seat, okay. You can lean against me."
Oliver nodded and flopped down on top of me and the drive to the hospital was underway.
