Dear Naomi,

It has been a busy day, but I remembered to write this letter down as you asked me to. I have met some very interesting people today. Most of them complete nutters to be honest.

We gathered at the little café just as it was suggested in the video. I know you told me it wouldn’t be what I expected. I was hoping for a trap or some kind of high stakes kidnapping mission. Of course it was a lot closer to going to one of Mum’s spell club meetings. There was a lot of arguing over seating, some people complained about even being there, others wanted to take control and there were a couple of dudes from a bit too far away who seemed to have come only to hit on Rei and Freya. Real lechy types who tried to sniff their hair and dropped as many innuendos as they dared.

Freya and Rei are probably the only bit of this that wasn’t disappointing. I have to say those two can look after themselves. One of the guys got handsy at one point. I stood up my fists all fired up to kick his arse, but I was too slow. Freya was lifting him one handed, then gave him a sneer of disdain before shoving him out of the door. Rei stood up as Freya dealt with the trash and addressed the rest of us.

“If you aren’t here to help you can leave just like that piece of crap has.”

It was about then that the meeting became more of a meeting than a group of onlookers. All those who were here for a laugh left, even those who were vehemently proclaiming this a conspiracy theory left after some pointed scowling. There were only three of us then other than our hosts. The other two are called Brandon and Georgina Sofina Carmen, “G” for short.

We spent the rest of the afternoon together going through what skills we have and what methods we could all think of to drag Keith back from whoever has taken him. Well probably taken him. Rei mumbled something about it being more likely to be him leaving or dying. I think she was keeping that quiet for Freya’s sake more than anything.

Anyway I’m scribbling this on the post office counter before I go find somewhere to sleep tonight. Should be back in a week or two so make sure Mamma and the others keep out of trouble while I’m gone.
