I need to keep my mind off of this. I go outside into the woods in my backyard. I’ve discovered most of the hiding spots out here. I’ve been going into the woods to relax for years. Once in a while, I take my friends with me. I hear my dad yell for me to get inside. He says it’s not safe and that someone could be out there. My dad’s been investigating these murders for years. That’s right. Years. No one has even come close to finding the murderer.

   I run to the house. My dad tells me, “Your dad went out to get some things. He’ll be back in a bit.” I just nod. My other dad has always been weird. Always staring off into nothing. He has also been going out more frequently. My phone rings.
