Chapter 4
Alex's POV:
"How are you feeling?"
"Been better." A chuckle escapes my lips. Gin's palm is pressed against my forehead, testing my temperature.
After all the ordeal with the sudden news, my body decided to fall ill. I have accepted the fact that whatever happened, happened and I can't change the past.
I have to deal with it.
"Seems like you still have a bit of fever. Do you think you can attend classes today?"
"Most likely. I can't skip classes forever." Gin stands up from the edge of my bed before helping me up on my feet.
My knees instantly gave out on me the moment I step on the cold floor.
I gasp as I was about the hit the floor but Gin catches me before that could happen.
"On second thought. Maybe you shouldn't attend today as well."
"I have been staying home for a week now. If my father would hear about this-"
"He would agree." A deeper and familiar voice appears by the entrance of my room.
"Father? What are you doing here? You are suppose to be on a business trip."
"The moment I got the call from Gin, I rushed home since it's rare for you even get the slightest sneeze."
"I am still going to Uni." I took myself off of Gin's chest and stand on my legs. A second later, they give out again but this time, I fall on my bed.
"I don't think so." Father says, before he grabs my phone that is thrown on my nightstand, dialing a number and waiting for the line to connect.
A short moments of silence later, my father introduces himself.
He exits the room with my phone pressed to his ear before shutting the door behind him.
I sigh.
Gin pets my head. "If he is here then you are covered."
I slapped his hand away in annoyance.
"You have no idea what you have done!" I angrily scream at Gin. "My father and I made a deal. I could study outside of these walls only in one condition."
"That you don't skip?" I nod. "And you actually believe that your father cares about some stupid deal? He would have let you out if you have just asked nicely."
I bite my lip.
I might have not done that.
I knew that I could just ask him but... I couldn't think of another way to introduce my thoughts to him.
We have never spoken more than an hello in the mornings.
"Hey." Gin's face appears in front of mine. So close. "You don't have to worry about such small things."
I turn my head away. "I know... I know but.."
Gin's warm hand caresses my cheek, before the other one joins in too, forcing to turn my head back and look at his beautiful blue eyes.
"I am here for you. I'll do anything, just name it." He whispers so gently that it makes me shiver.
Before I could stop myself I say, "Ki-" The door to my room opens.
Gin straightens himself, and I look away.
My father walks in with my phone in his hands.
"I have spoken to the principal. Told him that you may be absent yet another week." I nod.
"I have to get back to work. You take care of yourself." I nod again.
Father then turns to Gin. "Take care of him".
"I will." He then leaves after giving my phone back.
When we hear the door slam close, we both sigh in relief. The tension leaves the room.
"You wanted me to do something for you?" My bodyguard breaks the silence.
I nod. "Yeah. Cook for me. I like your food." I quickly think of something to can replace the one word that I can never say again.
You have to think before you say something stupid, you idiot.
Like he would ever ki-
"Cook for you? That's it? You could have ask earlier, you little brat."
I gasp.
"Who are you calling a brat??!"
"None other than you, of course." He ruffles my hair violently before turning around and begins to walk slowly but carefully out of my room.
I sprint on my legs in an instance before chasing after him.
When he notices that I am behind him, he begins to run as well and that's how we ended up on the living room's sofa, Gin on top of me- straddling my hips and holding my hands about my head.
The both of us are breathing like we ran a marathon.
"Let me go you prick!" I scream at his face, struggling again his hold.
His face was now so close, that I could see the different shades of blue in his eyes. His minty breath tingles my face.
"If you want something other cooking, I'll provide you with it immediately."
"I-I don't need anything! So just let me go already!"
When he closes the small distance between us, pressing his hard chest onto mine, he then whispers, "Anything. Just name it, Alex. I'll do anything for you."
I gulp, my eyes drift to his lips before they return to his magical blue eyes.
"I.. uuhh.. I am cool. I.. I don't think I need more than this."
His eyes show the disappointment. He wants more. I can see it but I can't..
"It's wrong, honey. You can't like another boy. It's against the rules."
"But mommy... He is so cool!"
"No, Alex. If you bring him over again, I'll stop loving you." Tears escape my eyes. "Ok, honey?"
"Ok. I don't want mommy to hate me."
"Good boy."
I just can't.. I promised.
I push Gin off me and he willingly climbs off. We sit in silence. Watching the black screen of the T.V.
"I am sorry. I don't know what came over me... I am gonna go make dinner." I nod, avoiding the eyes that were clearly searching for a reaction.
He sighs before getting up from sofa, leaving me here to my own thoughts.
If I fall in love with him, my mother will hate me.
Now that she is not in this world anymore, I must respect her wishes.
