A few days have gone by and I haven’t heard from Jesse. I go downstairs to watch the news. Both of my dads are there, they give me a worried look once I approach the living room. I look at the TV screen and chills run down my spine. Jesse’s face is on the screen. His body was found in an alleyway. I just stand there, in shock. This is my fault. I should’ve stayed. I collapsed to the floor and began to sob. My best friend is gone. I never got to tell him how I felt.
My dads allow me to skip school for the rest of the week. They knew I had feelings for...Jesse. I’ve kept myself in my room, only leaving to use the bathroom. I can’t believe he’s gone. He was so sweet, cute, funny, and perfect in every way. At least in my eyes. The week has ended and it’s the weekend. I decide to get out of the house, so I head over to the skate park. I just kinda sit there, staring off into space. I’m just imagining how scared he was. His smile fading from his face as he realized it was the end. I hear someone's footsteps.
