The line was divided into two, and both of them lead to an area where scientists were scanning bodies with actual airport x-rays, and then allowed them though. The line was then sorted again, but into groups of twelve, which were given something to their hands that Audiney could not quite see just yet. He had only just go past the scanning section and divided into his group of twelve; a mix of adult men and a few children. He leaned over a bit to observe something past another cluster of people, and found an empty hallway. There was no one guarding or surveying the area anywhere near it. Glancing a bit more, the hallway looked unlit and vacant. He thought that if he could hide there during this time, then he could try to find an exit to this unsetting contraption.
He checked behind him, then to both sides, and ran. The group said nothing, and watched him sprint towards the hallway in shock. Audiney thought he could make it, but the pitter patter of his bare feet was just too loud and gained the attention of the scientists. He saw the way they looked at him, and distracted from what was oncoming, Audiney's back was struck by force of a small mechanism shot by one of the scientists, and his entire body froze. He could not move no matter how hard he tried to struggle. His body glitched and stuck just as soon as he hit the floor. His legs bent into the air, and his arms outstretched to the hallway. His eyes still as he missed his chance for a possible escape.
Shoot. I'm screwed.
A scientists pressed something against his back, and the mechanism was released. His body relaxed and fell like wet paper to the floor. He was then picked up, escorted back to the group and the scientists left it alone. Audiney figured that if he tried to run again, then he would probably go though the same process again. That would drive him insane. He chose to stay with the group, and face what came next.
