"Do you know what happens when you don't use your power for a very long time?"
Audiney said nothing.
"You get sick. Very sick. So sick to the point you die. Subjects who haven't used their powers in five plus years have almost died because of heart failure. Experimenting with your power is normal. It's part of life. If you don't, there will be life-risking consequences. At least try, okay?"
Audiney gulped. "Okay..." he answered hesitantly.
He sat up, and held his hands out in front of his, turning them so his sweaty palms were facing each other, and fingers were aligned. Before, Audiney did not have to think about using his power and electricity would be summoned. Now, Audiney had to imagine he is gripping a powerline, and absorbing electricity rapidly. He twitched his fingers frequently, and kept imagining with the element. Nurse Bell waited patiently, looking at his hands.
A small current flashed between his fingers. Seconds after, more currents were manifested, appearing and vanishing. They intertwined with his fingers, crawling down his flesh and then repeated again at the top like a miniature fountain. It became burdensome to hold, and soon Audiney had to stop. He let his hands drop to his sides, and his muscles ached.
"It seems like this is a bit of a challenge for you," Nurse Bell observed. "This will be no problem. You just need to explore a bit, that's all."
"So, will you tell me where you intend to start?" Audiney asked.
"Starting tomorrow we'll have to get you to watch some tapes on training your power; the simple basics of manifestation and transferring energy. That is before we test your power intensity. We'll need to see your limits first, and then we'll proceed."
"How will that help?"
"Your limits will tell us how much power you can use at once, and how much damage it can do."
"But why would I ever want to do damage to someone?"
"You won't. It's just an exposé."
