"Princess... Princess... Where are you?" Called a maid as she was looking for the little princess who was supposed to be at the hall right now. "Princess!" She tried again. But there was no answer, so she moved to another place. As soon as she closed the door to the room, laughter could be heard from inside the room. But, The Maid had walked away from the room that she could not catch on the voice. Too bad for her, as the owner was the person she was looking for.
"Kuhuhu..." The laughter became louder as a little girl got out from the wardrobe where she used as a hiding place. "Thankfully she was not as clever as you, Maya." She said as she got out of the wardrobe, followed by the playmate she had thought as her own sister. Maya sighed as she too got out of the wardrobe. "Pri-Luna, shouldn't you be down at the hall? This party is for you after all." She said as she cleaned her dress and the princess' gown.
"Ehh~ but it's boring out there. Playing hide and seek is better~!" The Princess said gleefully. Maya sighed again. "What will happen if the Queen found out you're not at the hall then?" She asked warning the princess who was quite stubborn. "Boo~ You're no fun, Maya. Don't worry! I will return before the clock strikes at midnight. Come on! Let's play again!" She said before pulling her playmate out of the room.

"Remember, Cross Yuki-kun! You absolutely can't fail the exams, okay?!" Came the warning from the class president to the brown haired girl right away in the morning as she was on her way to the class with her best friends, Yori, and her adoptive sister, Scarlet. "He sure seems pretty stern about it." Scarlet commented with her no expression mask plastered on her face. "Must be because of the ball." Yori answered. "The ball, huh?"
"Apparently, we would have to prepare for the ball if our class got the lowest score for the exams." Yori explained again. "Hee~" Scarlet monotony answered. "The class president will definitely get mad if he won't be able to attend the ball to dance with Ruka-san." Yuki commented and shuddered at the thought. "Well, then, you better study hard, Yuki." Scarlet said turning to look at her still looking expressionless. "What? What about you, Scarlet? Will you be okay?" Yuki asked turning to look at Scarlet. "Hmm... besides maths I guess I will do pretty fine." She said proudly but still not being shown in her face. "Then, you should study hard in maths too, Scarlet." Yori commented as she laughed along with Yuki. "Hmph..." Scarlet simply brushed it off.
It had been some days after the incident between the new teacher and Zero. Somehow, it ended up like the new teacher never really had any intention to kill Zero. He was just annoyed with how weak Zero had become. Then, he left Zero in Yuki's hands. After that incident, another problem came brewing, and it was right before the exams and the ball too.
There was another new transfer student to the academy, and she was a vampire, nonetheless. Her name was Kurenai Maria, and somehow, she looked like a problem. For some reason, she had been having her hands on Yuki, and Zero who had seemed to hate her for another reason for her being a vampire had always made sure Yuki did not get near her. Scarlet herself had thought that there was something with the new transfer student. But, she could not really picture it. Whenever she tried to inspect her, Luna would always disturb her and distract her away from the transfer student, much like how Zero had kept Yuki away from her.
Then, a chance finally came, it was the night before the exam day. Yuki was studying with the headmaster when Zero came, so, the headmaster had asked Zero to teach Yuki while he would take their role as the guardian for tonight. Meanwhile, Scarlet had been doing her duty in another way. She had been spying on Kurenai Maria as she was too suspicious. Then, suddenly she saw Zero came. She quickly hid behind the wall, then Yuki came from the same way Zero came. The two were surprised to see each other, but the two spoke nothing as Scarlet had told her not to make any voice.
They were listening silently to the conversations between Zero and Kurenai Maria when suddenly someone from the upper floor had thrown a sword to the girl. "Zer-!" Yuki suddenly shouted but was cut suddenly before she finished it. Scarlet turned to look at her and who stopped Yuki had shocked her, but before she spoke out herself, she was suddenly feeling sleepy herself, and before she knew it, she had blacked out.
Zero who was about to get stroke by Kurenai Maria heard Yuki's voice for a moment and had looked away from the enemy, so he ended up getting slashed. Kurenai Maria was about to give more injury to him when he managed to shot her. She then retreated after saying that being in a body that was not hers was pretty hard.
Meanwhile, outside the room, two girls had been put to sleep by two vampires. "Seriously...and I've been trying to keep you away from her too..." One of the vampires spoke as she carried Scarlet who she had put to sleep. "These two girls are really..." The other one joined in. "I do not care about what would happen to them, but, at least you alone that I cannot lose." He added as he erased the memory of the other girl in her arm. Then he turned to look at Scarlet and the vampire who had been clinging to her. "But seriously, I did not even think that Scarlet would even get into it... Are you not going to erase her memory too?" He asked as he tried to approach her.
Luna sent him a sharp glare, so unlike how she had always been when she was with Scarlet. "Don't come any closer, vampire. Don't you dare touch her with your filthy hands." She repeated the words she sent him back at the dorm. "So you said, but aren't you vampire yourself?" Kaname simply stated the fact. That made her glare even sharper. "I will take care of her myself." And with that, she had brought Scarlet with her to who knew where.
The next morning, Yuki had awoken on her bed without remembering anything. She could not do her exams either despite having studied the night before. She then turned to look at the empty seat at the back, Zero's seat, but she did not say anything. After the exam ended, she was walking back to the dorm when she was approached by none other than Kurenai Maria. She told her that Yuki was cruel, for despite he was being concerned about her, she did not even remember about anything. "What do you mean?" Yuki then asked. "It's about someone close to you." She simply said. "Do you mean...Zero?" As she asked that, she was bitten by the black cat Yuki had found on the street, then suddenly she remembered what had happened the night before.
"Where's Zero?! What did you do to him?" Yuki suddenly asked to Kurenai Maria, who came closer to her and whispered to her, "I know a way to save Zero. However,...." And then she walked away from Yuki while giggling evilly. Yuki just stood there, not knowing what to do. Meanwhile at the same time, on another place, Scarlet was being locked into a room. "Luna!" She called. "Let me out of here!" She shouted as she knocked on the locked door. "No, can't do, dear Scarlet~" Luna replied from the other side of the door. "I don't want you to take part in this one. This is not your time yet." She said, with the last part in a lower voice.
"What do you mean? This is not for you to decide! Hurry and let me out of here!" Scarlet shouted some more. With no response from Luna, she clicked her tongue. She then walked to the window to try to look at where she was. But, she had no clue on wherever she was right now. "Where the hell are we right now?!" She asked no one in particular, as she was just too pissed. She just hoped that she could get out of there before it was all too late.

Back to the Academy, the students were preparing for the ball, and Yuki's class was part of it because of her class got the lowest score. It was not only Yuki's fault, though, as she did not even answer any of the questions. But it was also because Zero and Scarlet were not even taking the exam. However, thankfully they could finish the preparation soon, so they could still join the ball later.
After the preparation, Yuki was in her room still wearing her uniform when Yori got in and delivered the dress from Kaname. She then came to the ball dressed up in the dress sent by him. She then met Zero at the ball and helped him tidy up his uniform and gave him her rose badge from her dress. Then, suddenly, Scarlet showed up out of nowhere, well, from the front door actually, and she was wearing her own dress. The style was similar to Yuki's but it was in a dark color, and it was shorter as it only reached up to her upper thighs. The dress was even frillier than Yuki's, and she was also wearing a matching headband and socks that reached up to her lower thighs. Totally screaming out a gothic loli. It made her looked almost like a living doll, especially with her emotionless face.
Everyone, including Yuki and Zero, was surprised to see her in such dress. Almost the whole students were looking at her and it made her feel conscious of herself, thus, she just glared at them to make no one looked at her again, and good for her that it worked. "Now, now~ Scarlet dear~ I have dressed you up prettily. Why would you even scare them?" Luna sighed as she walked up to her as she wore her own white dress. The dress was way simpler than Scarlet's and it looked pretty elegant on her.
Scarlet turned to her and glared at her as well. "What~?" She asked innocently. "It was our deal, right~?" She giggled. "Right." Scarlet just simply replied coldly. Yuki just looked at the two confusedly. Then she remembered. "Where did you go these past days, Scarlet?" She suddenly asked walking to her, looking worried. "Ah, don't worry about me. I was being played by this girl here." She said pointing to Luna with a very cold tone at the end, signing she was very annoyed by the vampire, who just laughed it off gleefully.
"How're you doing too, though? Did anything happen while I was away?" Scarlet returned the question back to Yuki, and also to Zero. The two of them looked away from Scarlet without saying anything. It was only when Yuki had turned to look at Yuki that she spoke out. "No, nothing much happened, we were pretty busy preparing the ball." She said as she gave her a nervous smile. "...I see." Scarlet simply replied, but she knew there was actually something they were hiding from her.
"Well, shouldn't you two be dancing then?" Scarlet asked again now changing the topic to something less heavy. "Eh?" Yuki seemed surprised as she turned to look at Zero who looked away from her coolly. "I'm on patrol duty." He simply answered. "What? Even at a time like this? The headmaster sure is no fun~" The one who complained was Luna, to everyone's surprised. "Well, then, shall just the two us dance, Scarlet~?" She asked, but then pulled Scarlet's hand immediately even without waiting for her reply. "Eh? Wait, wha-?" Scarlet just protested but to no avail as she was being dragged to the center of the hall already, leaving Zero and Yuki behind.
Yuki was looking at the scene with sweatdrop while Zero thought that it was stupid. The two totally missed the inner scream and hidden SOS Scarlet was sending to the two of them. Then, there was a moment of awkward silence between the two before Yuki broke it by saying, "Well, I'll be looking for Kaname-senpai first then. You should enjoy the ball too, Zero." She then pat his shoulder before leaving him to find Kaname.
Once Yuki had found him, she thanked him for the dress, and the two talked for a while before they danced at the balcony, without following the music. Meanwhile, in the ballroom, in the middle of it, Scarlet was being twirled around by none other than Luna who was ecstatic in dancing with Scarlet. "No matter from whoever's point of view you see this... It seems so wrong." Scarlet mentally thought. "Well, perhaps not in hers only." She sighed as she was caught in Luna's arm and then being twirled around again. She just hoped that the music would end soon.
"Hahaha... This is so fun, isn't it, Scarlet~?" Luna laughed gleefully as she kept on catching and twirling Scarlet and danced with her not really following the songs, either. "No, I think I'm about to throw up anytime soon if you don't stop twirling me around." Scarlet truthfully answered with her stoic expression. Then she heard a voice from the crowd. "Hey, Luna, switch with me! You can't monopolize Scarlet-chan all to yourself." She perfectly knew who it was, then when they stopped dancing just for a while as Luna turned to look at the owner of the voice, Scarlet was glad for once that the blonde haired senior was speaking out.
"Huh? No way! Scarlet is mine!" Luna countered as she pulled Scarlet into a hug. "What?! Since when is she yours? Come one, just let me dance with her once!" Hanabusa countered back as he walked to the center to face Luna. "Well, indeed I have never been yours, Luna, so please let me go?" Scarlet joined in as she felt like her bone might be breaking anytime soon from the tight hug. "What~?! Scarlet~!!" Luna wailed as she hugged her even tighter with her eyes began to teared up. "No! No... wait... Let go of me for a...while..." Scarlet tried to speak as she tried to break free from her. "I can't breath..." She managed to say and Luna quickly let go of her. "Oh, sorry!" She apologized.
Scarlet sighed as she was able to breathe properly again. "Great! Now, Scarlet-chan, will you dance with me?" Scarlet turned her head and found a blonde vampire was asking out to her.
