Antoinette D'Winter was putting the final touches on her poetry assignment. She and the others were doing their homework. Elise and Nate, like her, were ready to present there's as well. Bailey wasn't happy to be eating cereal; every house had their rules. The most important food rule: 'Whomever signs their name to the breakfast log, chooses the selection, the chores do not apply.'
Unfortunately, Peter was awake before everyone, and because she was on chores this week, she had to make cereal for everyone.
She preferred cooking, she liked it, and it made in touch with her culture and her big sister.
"Uh, I prefer blueberries in my cereal--thanks." Peter said, and smiled.
Bailey made a fist with her hand and grabbed the boy by his collar. "I'll give you somethin' blue, alright." She said with a smile.
A familiar voice alerted her. "Still violent, Jia." She turned around, and saw her big sister, Abbie.
Bailey ran to her. "Happy New Year, Jiǎo!" she said through an embrace.
"And you, too." She replied.
They hadn't seen each other in years, since the separation due to their age.
Everyone greeted her, they shared some anecdotes and laughs, she was impressed; she remembered them as kids ages nine to thirteen, especially her sister, who looked like a young version of her great-grandmother.
Abigail Forest looked just like, Bailey but, older; except she dressed more Con-serve than her little sister.
Jia was Bailey's birth name, and only her sister was allowed to call her that; just as she called her Jiǎo.
"So, what brings you back, luv?" Liam asked.
"Well, I'm here...to stay." The news caused a lovable ambush from her sister.
"Really?" she asked
"Of course! Can't let my little sister get into any trouble, can I?" She stated, Peter shook his head in agreement.
"I need to see Talbot, but I was thinking about you moving in with me."
"What? Y-You mean that?" she asked
Bailey looked at everyone, could she really leave them? Before she could answer, Sebastian emerged.
"Abbie! I think there's something you want to tell me." He said, she stood, nodded, and went into his Office.
"Everyone, outside--quiz time. Except you, Peter, watch her." He was referring to CJ; he continued "Now be ready. Devin and Bailey, Liam and Elise, and Nate with Anne. Tense, you have a mission, I believe? You've five minutes to prepare."
Everyone headed outside, to the backwoods.
Tense made her way to the City. Each had their own ways of preparing: Devin would rub a tree, Anne would kiss her lucky charm, and then Liam, Bailey would wrap rope around her knuckles, Elise would take a quick shower, Nate would meditate, and Liam did cracked his neck, along with his knuckles.
"A'ight, let's do this...BB." Devin teased
"Oh! It's already done...Junior." Bailey replied.
She was going to enjoy this. She stopped when she saw Abi leaving. Sebastian escorted her to her car; she was sad to leave her sister, but it was best, to spare her the bad news.
