“Emilia, wake up. It’s time to go,” Rechemay said in a rather soft voice, “We’re going on another adventure,”
Emilia groaned and rolled onto her side, “Idonwannagorightnow,”
“If you don’t get up, I’ll have to eat you, so get up already, you lazy bum,” Rechemay said, “Or I could get Aline here too…”
Emilia shot up, “Err… Don’t get Aline here! I’m up!” Emilia exclaimed, “Don’t call her now…” She gave a small smile.
Rechemay nodded, “Get ready, we need to get going soon, otherwise we’ll be late,” Rechemay said, “Or… Is embarrassing and humiliating your fiance something you fancy…”
“Err… That’s not- I mean, that’s not what I really enjoy doing! I couldn’t purposefully embarrass or humiliate you…” Emilia responded.
“Oh, that’s too bad… I do enjoy that quite a bit, you know,” Rechemay gave a wink to Emilia before excusing herself and leaving.
Six of the Knights gathered around a rather large and circular table. They were waiting for the last Knight to arrive.
“Where’s Maria?” Aline complained, “She’s always so late…”
“Be patient, Aline… It’s only been a few minutes…” Roseia responded, “She’ll be here soon enough,”
The rest of the Knights nodded in agreement. Aline took a seat, crossed her arms, and pouted.
In seeming urgency, a woman came barreling down the hallway, one of her boots in her hand and a gauntlet hanging from her mouth.
She mumbled an apology as she took the gauntlet from her mouth and put it on her hand. She also put her boot on her foot.
“Sorry sorry! I overslept and-” The woman fell on her face, “Oh jeez, sorry, I’m no good at walking and talking at the same time!”
Rechemay snickered, “Are you alright, Maria?” Rechemay asked, “Do you need help getting up?”
“Oh no, I’m fine!” Maria responded, “I can get up just fine!”
Maria quickly jumped back to her feet and brushed herself off. She then hastily made for the round table.
“Right then, let us begin,” Rechemay started, “Our current target is the dungeon towards the north of Ikaria. We are not to cross the border into Rekroth though. We’ll instantly be captured and killed,”
Rechemay continued to give a lecture, though only half of the other knights seemed to actually pay attention.
Rechemay slammed her hand on the table, “Are you all listening?!” She exclaimed, “This is important information!”
Immediately, every knight jumped back in their chairs and eyed Rechemay. Emilia had almost fallen out of her chair.
“We’re listening, we’re just so bored of your lectures all the time…” Aline commented, “They happen so often we’ve all gotten bored,”
“I don’t think they’re boring…” Emilia muttered, “I really like her lectures…”
“That’s just because she proposed to you, Emi… Everyone else is sick of the speeches and lectures,” Aline responded.
“I think they’re pretty cool, honestly… Gets me all pumped up!” Maria said, “I’m in Emi’s boat!”
“As Knights, isn’t it our responsibility to listen to and obey our Knight Commander?” Seloua added, “If we cannot listen to and obey our Knight Commander, what good are we as Knights? We’re supposed to be the elites of this nation and yet here we are squabbling over a speech,”
Aline recoiled and pursed her lips. She then went uncharacteristically silent and began to pay attention to Rechemay once more.
“Now that we have that settled…” Rechemay started, “May we please carry on with this?” Rechemay added.
Every Knight in the room nodded their heads in agreement.
Rechemay exhaled deeply, "Right then, this dungeon will be decently similar to most other dungeons. It is a Class 3 dungeon. Medium difficulty. Highest ranking monster is a Class 2," Rechemay explained.
“Class 2 Monsters are scary…” Emilia said.
“Everything’s scary to you, Emi…” Aline responded, “You should be called ‘Emilia the Scaredy Cat instead,”
Emilia puffed out her cheeks, “I’m not a scaredy cat!” Emilia exclaimed, “I’m just as brave as you!”
“Oho, is that a challenge, Emi? I didn’t expect you of all people to have so much courage,” Aline said, “We’ll see who is brave in the dungeons, won’t we?”
Rechemay smirked, “Very well, we all know what we’re up against, we’ll meet at the dungeon in the morning!” Rechemay bellowed, “Everyone is dismissed!”
