I was hanging around the usual area when a sweet smell caught my nose. I looked over from my place behind the building to see a highschooler. He had a backpack slung over his shoulder and was wearing a white t-shirt underneath an open, red and black button-up. He had on black ripped skinny jeans and a black beanie. He seemed lost in his own thoughts.
For a split second my mind went blank. In those moments I tackled him to the dirt. When he looked up, I was immediately captivated my his hazel colored eyes.
Suddenly, he began shaking. I realized his breathing was also uneven. Cursing under my breath I got off from on top of him and pulled him to my chest.
Just as it seemed like he was calming down, he began shaking even more violently than before and I feared he was going to pass out. “Look at me” I said in a very dominant voice. The young male obeyed and looked up at me. I demonstrated a deep breath.
This continued for ten minutes before he stood up and checked his phone. He began some kind of thanks, but instinct took over in that moment and I bit him. He collapsed in my arms and passed out.
He was really cute when sleeping. That is what I had decided. I was watching him from a tree outside his window when he suddenly jumped awake. ‘Phew, Just a dream.’ His thoughts wavered through my mind. As he began getting dressed, I quietly crept inside. When I made a comment he turned on his heel to look at me.
“W-Who…. Who are you?” He stuttered. "Oh, Hi! I'm Blake and your a part of my guild, or, rather, the first member. No need to be scared." I said to him. He began shouting and I quickly hushed him and began to explain to him about guilds and what happened when I bit him.
He still seemed confused so I was going to keep explaining when his sister called him downstairs. “Wai-” I began, but He was already downstairs and out the door.
I sighed. Jumping out the window, I shifted into an owl. All vampired had a spirit animal they could shift into. Mine was a coal black owl with big, ice-blue eyes.
I was going to tell him that he could shift into his spirit animal at any moment and that he wouldn’t be able to control it without training.
Following him around school in this form was both easier and safer for the both of us. Luckily, he stayed in his human form all day. I rushed back to his house and the second he walked in the door, I tackled him.
He didn’t seem all that calm though, so I quickly got off of him and apologized. The said he was okay, then got up and sat on his bed. I sat on the desk chair.
All of the sudden he said "If your really a vampire prove it." Closing my eyes, I willed my fangs out and my eyes began glowing. I opened my eyes and mouth. He said one word.
“Wow”
I smirked, he was at a loss for words. “Do you believe me now?” I asked as he slowly got closer. He nodded and ran a finger along my fangs, as though to make sure they were real. He suddenly began rummaging around in a drawer until he found whatever he was looking for. A ....Sketchbook?
“Can I draw you…?” The boy asked. Eagerly, I nodded my head. I sat on the bed since it was more comfortable and he began sketching.
For hours. I sat there for four hours. It was really tiresome, but at least he was happy with the sketch he got. I wasn’t used to seeing humans so I had no idea what he was doing when he pulled papers and books out of his backpack. I watched in awe as he sat there for nearly an hour doing whatever he was doing. When he got in the shower, I decided to try and prank him. I dumped a bucket of Ice-cold water on his head. He yelped and yelled at me for a few minutes while I just laughed. Finally he ate and went to sleep.
Not long after, Peyton came home. I turned into my owl form and jumped out the window. Flying over the city was relaxing.
When I got home, My older brother, Riley, engulfed me in a hug. “Where have you been!? He shouted. We were so worried!” I told him of my plan to make a guild and my new partner. He seemed worried, but respected my decisions.
As night turned into day and I made my way over to my partner’s house,
All I could think was ‘Oh, I still don’t know his name.’
