"Hey- wanna put on a fashion show?" Flanna asks.
"For who?"
"Us! We do our makeup and nails- and we put on fancy clothes for no reason! It's fun, trust me!"
"Yeah, that sounds fun." I shrug.
"Great! Let's go up to your room, then!"
"Sure, follow me." I get off the couch and lead Flanna to the stairs. "Careful, these aren't the best stairs," I warn, gripping the railing tight.
"Oh, wow, they really aren't," Flanna says, walking behind me slowly, watching her feet. "Woah... Your room's so big!" Flanna exclaims, walking into it.
"Yeah, since I don't live with anyone else, I get the master bedroom," I say, sitting down on my bed. "Where do you want to start?"
"Let's pick out outfits first! Whaddaya got?" Flanna asks, plopping down on the bed beside me.
"A lot. I'm not sure a lot of them will fit you, though." I say, standing up and opening my closet, revealing it to be full of dresses.
"That's okay! My nightgown will do just fine!" She exclaims, bouncing off the bed. "But this selection is amazing! I don't know what to pick for you!" She looks through each of them, putting aside the dresses she likes.
In the end, it's one of my fun dresses that she chooses. It's loose and flowy, with dark blue lace covering it and acting as the sleeves. The sleeves go down to my elbows and don't cover my shoulders. The dress itself is green, with a dark green belt over the lace. It's one of my less-used favorites.
"It's so pretty! Do you want to do my make up first? Or should I do yours?" Flanna asks as I spin in a circle for her, the skirt going out like a tutu.
"I think we should get the makeup out first," I say, walking over to my vanity and opening the drawers and one of my jewelry boxes to show her my collection. "Use anything you like. I trust that you won't destroy them."
"Wow... So many options! I really wanna use them! Can I do you first?" She exclaims, marveling at my collection.
"Okay."
"Great! Sit down in the chair!" She orders, and I do as told, sitting tall and still. I let her move me around, following her every direction as she does my makeup. "Blues and greens really are your colors... I guess it's 'cause they match your eyes and hair."
"I suppose," I reply, trying to stay as still as possible.
"Ta-da! Open your eyes!" Flanna shouts, backing away. I turn and look in the mirror and- wow, she's really good at this. It looks almost professional. She's really good at a lot of things, huh? It's mostly girly stuff, though. I wonder why...
"What do you think?" She asks hopefully, and I look back to her.
"It's amazing! You really are full of surprises, aren't you? Thank you so much! I'll have to ask for your help next time I go somewhere formal." Flanna giggles, blushing slightly.
"Thanks... I've had a lot of practice..."
"My turn!" I shout, standing up and pushing Flanna into the chair. "I think purples and pinks are for you." I wink at her and turn to my vanity, rummaging around in my makeup bins.
I get to work, applying this and that, and that again while Flanna and I chatter back and forth about nothing in particular.
"Done," I say, and she looks in the mirror.
"This is awesome, Linnie! How did you do this with the eyeshadow? It looks so complicated!"
"Oh, swatches here, here, here, and here," I say, pointing at my eyelid. "Then blend."
"I'm gonna have to try that sometime. C'mon, let's take a selfie!" Flanna pulls out her phone and drags me over to her. We take pictures for a long time, playing with filters and stickers- on both of our phones.
"Wanna go watch another movie?" Flanna asks, and I shrug.
"Which one are you suggesting?"
"Let's find out what we have left downstairs."
