Snow floated down from the pale, cloudy sky as if it was raining tiny feathers. The ground was lightly dusted in the white powder and the hospital was so still, one might’ve thought it was a painting. No one could be seen besides a Woman and a Man that sat inside one of the rooms. Their faces bright and warm as they watched their cold surroundings.
In the woman’s arms She held a baby, who’s pale skin matched her own. The baby had an ankle bracelet displaying the name “Justin” and his green eyes resembled his father’s. A bottle sat in the baby’s small mouth. As He eagerly drank from his bottle, held in place by his father, A woman with a stethoscope around her neck opened their door. “Good morning, Alduins! How is Mr. Justin doing today?” , Her voice was soft and low, as to not disturb Justin. The mother answered her, “He seems to be doing better! He’s much better at using a bottle than breast feeding.” The father chimed in, slightly chuckling, “If I was him I’d be rough too.” The mother smiled and shook her head, jokingly. The nurse slightly laughed, “Is now a bad time to go check his vitals?” Justin had just finished the bottle and was now clinging to his mother, instantly half asleep. His mother caressed his head and smiled down at her baby for a minute, before answering, “I believe he’s calm enough.” The nurse walked over and was handed Justin, who clung to her shoulder without making a fit, “Someone’s tired.”, She smiled. The whole room felt like a warm, perfect, spring day, despite the snow outside.
When the nurse returned, Justin was still calm and half asleep. The minute He was handed back to his parents he had fallen asleep. “Looks like we got an angel baby.”, the mother smiled. “Guess so.” The father smiled back and got close to her, caressing her chin and kissing her, “We’re gonna be great.” His mother giggled quietly and looked at him, “Maybe.”

Days had passed and Justin had finally been brought home. His parents carried him over their lush green grass and onto their slightly elevated, stone, front porch. The foundation of their home was covered in grey bricks, while the rest of the house was white, with flowers on every window ledge. They had a swing bench on their porch, which was guarded by white, stone fences and a big willow tree sat on the front lawn. The house was only one story, but still quite big and had enough space to comfortably fit Justin and his parents. The whole interior was composed of white and brown furniture. It was well kept and everything sat in a specific place. When they walked in, a German Shepard ran to the door and jumped onto Justin’s dad, placing his paws on his chest. The Shepard jumped off and playfully ran around them, stopping when he saw Justin. The dog placed his paws on the mom and sniffed the tiny human she was holding. The dad walked into the kitchen and began to fill a bowl with kibble, “Calm down, Moon.”, He chuckled, “That’s just Justin.” Justin laid in his mom’s arms, still in the sleepy stage of being a newborn.
“Smith, I’m gonna go put Justin in his crib and bring all his stuff in. Okay?”, His mother spoke softly. “I’ll listen for him crying and anything else.”, He smiled and approached his wife, “You know you’re beautiful right?” She smiled and looked at his eyes, “Am I?” “You’re the most beautiful woman in the entire world.” Smith kissed her and took Justin out of her arms, “I’ll show this little dude his new room and I’ll grab everything. Get some rest.” She smiled, kissed him, then walked off.
Smith carried Justin into his nursery. There were purple blinds on the window and purple fairies on the blankets in his crib. There were pink and purple pictures on every wall and a purple J above his crib. Smith sighed and sat in the white rocking chair, located next to the pink and white changing table, “Your mother was so destined to make this place perfect for you. Guess we got it wrong though. Didn’t we, bud?” Justin made a quiet babbling noise, as he began to get fussy. “You haven’t eaten in a bit have you?”, His father stood up, placed him gently into his crib next to a pink stuffed bunny, “I’ll be right back.” minutes later he was back and holding a bottle for Justin to drink from. After He had finished his bottle, He fell asleep and that was basically it for his first day home.

His grandparents had came over one day to meet Justin and see his nursery and such, since they lived too far away to come sooner. “I wanna meet my grandson already!”, Melody complained from the living room. “Smith’s dressing him, Mom. You’ll meet him soon enough.”, Justin’s mother stated. “Elizabeth, I pushed you out of me! I don’t think a diaper is going to be that traumatizing!” Everyone in the living room laughed, as Smith finished dressing Justin.
Right when Smith left the room, Melody rushed over to him and her grandson, “Aw! Edward, would you look at him? He’s precious!” Smith chuckled a bit and handed over Justin, “Look, Jay! This is Grandma Mel and That’s Grandpa Ed!”, He pointed to Edward. “How’ve you been, son?”, Edward asked Smith as he shook his hand. Even though Ed was Elizabeth’s father, they treated Smith like a son. “It’s been good! Everything we got from the shower seems out of place though.”, Smith shrugged and noticed Melody and Elizabeth talking about Justin. “What do you mean out of place?”, Edward looked confused. “Why don’t you guys come see the nursery?”, Smith spoke loud enough for everyone to hear.
Melody refused to let anyone else hold Justin, but when she walked into the nursery, her jaw dropped. “I thought you guys wanted to be surprised by the gender?”, Edward spoke. “Well, we did.”, Elizabeth began to answer, “But I wanted to know before, so we went to a physic instead of the hospital.” “Why in heaven's name would you do that?”, Melody was shocked. “They said we were having a girl, so everything we got was for a girl.”, Smith finished. “I’m not no expert, but I don’t think Justin here is a girl.”, Edward joked. “What about the ‘J’ on the wall?”, Melody questioned. “We were going to name him Justine… before we knew he was a he…”, Elizabeth awkwardly spoke.
After a few more hours of nursery discussion and baby talk, Melody and Edward began their long drive home and Justin’s parents debated what to do about the nursery. They didn’t have enough money to redo it yet, so they decided to keep his room purple til they could afford to change it.

When Justin learned to walk, both parents were present, but when he first spoke only his dad was home and his mom was never told about the event. Smith figured it’d be best if Elizabeth wasn’t told, since her child’s first word was four letters long and started with a S. To Elizabeth his first word was Moon and He said it to talk to their dog. Seems nicer than he copied his dad’s profanity, while watching him play video games. Justin also developed a friendship with Moon and Moon slept outside of Justin’s door to guard him nightly. Everything was calm, perfect, and organized in the Alduin household.
