The halls seemed almost to resonate dust as Maribelle and Lo walked
“Ugh...so stuffed.” Lo groaned. Maribelle smiled.
“You were quite the glutton.” Maribelle hummed. Lo glared over to Maribelle.
“Oh S-” She tried to insult before stepping on a bit of her puffy dress. She tripped over and fell, slamming her face into the ground. Maribelle blinked.
“Are you o-” Maribelle started.
“No! No I am not! Help me up!” She yelled. Maribelle nodded and grabbed Lo’s dainty hand and lifted. Lo glared and brushed herself off.
“This is where you thank me.” Maribelle said Lo rolled her eyes and started walking again.
“Where are we even going now?” Lo sighed. Maribelle looked forward to a wooden door and opened it.
“We are checking in with Haru.” Maribelle explained.
The two entered a wide open dusty stone roo. Swords and armour lined racks lazily placed against the wall. A table in front of a billboard with many papers attached chaotically about featured Haru jotting down notes. Maribelle walked over. Lo turned and saw some gruffy men training with their swords, many in a somewhat state of undress. Before Lo could stare Maribelle turned her toward Haru.
“How are things Haru?” Maribelle asked. Haru turned to her looking beyond stressed.
“I have to run an army, an army of people who don’t even like me. We will all die if i fail as well.” Haru stammered. Maribelle nodded.
“Seems like your handling things well then.” She said.
Filly waltzed in holding a giant book. She slammed it onto the table.
“I have found our solution!” Filly yelled. Maribelle tuned to her.
“I doubt that.” Haru sighed from behind. She shushed him and opened the book.
“I found this great protection spell. It wards off dark specters from the castle walls.” Filly said. Haru cocked an eyebrow.
“And why should we believe something like that is real?” Haru asked.
“Where’d you get this convenient problem solver anyway!?” Haru added. Filly glared.
“The likelihood of this magical spell working is far greater than whatever you come up with!” Filly added. Haru glared deeply at her.
“God get a room already.” Lo sighed annoyed to be a part of this.
“Filly, please read the spell for us.” Maribelle asked politely
