Ryan

I saw him kind of sway and before I knew it he was falling onto me. Not that I’m really complaining. He’s cute and adorable. I was in kind of a daze from his scent. He smelled like vanilla and chocolate had a baby. It was the most intoxicating scent I’d ever smelled.

I felt him get up and heard him say something but before I could get up he was gone. A few seconds later I decided I’d get up and try to find him, but he wasn’t in the apartment. I opened the door and went down the stairs taking two at a time. I had a really bad feeling and I had no clue why.

“Hey, Cindy did you see Seth come through here?” I asked the receptionist.

“Through the door across the street and to the right, that’s all I know.” She said looking back down at her magazine.

I hurried across the road and went right walking fast and looking down and behind anything he could he hiding in or behind. Then I heard a weird sound…

Slash! Smack! Slash!

“It must be him.” I said under my breath and went to the opening of the alley. I could just barely make out the figure at the end. It was definitely Seth but he was moving his arms in a weird way. I took three or four steps forward and that’s when I saw what he was doing.

“OH MY GOD!” I said. I couldn’t believe my eyes. He was…he was whipping himself with a belt. I had to stop him. This probably had something to do with his mom. There were so many scars on his exposed back some old some new but how could anything drive him do this.

I ran up to him, grabbed the belt, through it away and wrapped his tiny form in my arms. He started to cry and then he hugged me back.

“I didn’t mean to… be this way… it just happened… its just who I am… but my mom… can’t except it and me being this way is disgusting and it makes me an embarrassment to my family. My mother basically stopped being my mom when I told her but I never understood why it was such a big deal until I grew up. I’m a… I’m an abomination to humankind.” He sobbed and then he collapsed. I lifted him in my arms and put my coat around him and carried him back to our apartment. I sat him the sofa and started to make some tea to calm him down.
