"Fair is foul and foul is fair. write down what this means in your books please."

as i think about what to write i cant help but watch esmeree out of the corner of my eye. shes so perfect. all of a sudden:

SLAM. 

i look over my shoulder to see what happened. i see miss gayzarebad glaring at pirate who has a book in her hand. i try to see what the book is but cant see.

"do you think that this is appropriate felicity? DO YOU?" miss gayzarebad yells.

"what are you talking about miss?" i hear pirate say, completely calm.

"that book." miss gayzarebad spits. "hand it to me."

she takes it and puts it on her desk. the whole class is silent and waiting to see what happens next. pirate looks completely unfazed, bored even. 

"you will be spending 30 minutes after school with me and dont let me ever see anything like that out again!" miss gayzarebad yells. 

"what was it miss?" i hear britanny ask.

"a book encouraging... inappropriate behaviour."

i lean over my seat to see what it was. heartstopper. just for those who don't know, hearstopper is a gay love story. its a really great comic, but 'idiot' i think. 'pirate is such an idiot. why would you read a gay comic in miss gayzarebad's lesson?'

"oh, i agree miss. i think that thats disgusting behaviour which shouldnt be accepted. it isnt normal." britanny (bitch) says. wait, brittany has read heartstopper?

i see catherine put up her hand. 'oh no don't get yourself into trouble catherine' i think.she's always been the type to fight for quality and whatever, but if she gets a detention i don't wanna have to wait half an hour outside the school gates...

"miss i think that what Britanny said is disgusting and that she should get the detention, not pirate. pirate did nothing wrong!" she says.

"did i say that you could speak, catherine?!"

"no bu-"

"DETENTION FOR BOTH OF YOU! NOW QUIET!"

Cath rolls her eyes and sits down. great. we just screwed up our relationship with our English teacher for the rest of the year and she's our neighbor. i turn to pirate, who i blame all this on anyway, but she's just staring at cath and i swear i can see the lovehearts in her eyes. too bad Cath is 100% straight...
