A Few Months Later...
Daebru stood still in the large room waiting for his next mission. His eyes glance down the line of Order members to see the Higher member, cerulean hood pulled low over her face, looking at each of them with a sigh as she handed over scrolls to each of those summoned. Her long sleeves sweeping the floor as she moved down the line before standing in front of Daebru. Silk of the robes brushed against his arms as he looked up into the hood to see his mentor give him a light smile, "Haaru..." she held out a scroll to him and he snatched the hidden vile he knew was for him from her robes hiding it away in the sash of his dress.
"You all have your assignments, make arrangements with your Keepers and get it done. Mistakes will not be tolerated, but all of you are due some free time after the completion of this mission so don't rush back, send a note of completion through your Keeper and enjoy your time. I expect you all back in three weeks," she turned away from the group and headed through heavy double doors that lead to council chambers, "Dismissed!" her voice echoed out from the slowly closing doors and Daebru caught sight of her taking off the robe and letting her long aubrun hair down before loosing sight of her.
Successful mission ... just like always .. gather intel by any means, kill if you have to. I wish I didn't enjoy the killing as much. It feels wrong, yet like I was made for it. He shakes his head lightly as he makes his way out of the black and indigo marble room with silver accents that always draw his eyes like spirals around the room. He picks his way through the crowd to the library nodding to other members that he hasn't taken the time to get to know. "Woah there kiddo," an amused familiar voice comes down to him as he rounds the corner a bit to fast.
"Hello, Jack," he smiles up at the older man almost innocently hands and scroll going behind his back as he takes in the lithe form of the clearly undead male leaning against the wall, "What brings you down this hall so early in the morning? Surely not chasing tale so soon?" his eyebrows raise in mock distress. I wish he'd chase me. The thought bringing a light blush to his cheeks.
"Hey now!" He feins hurt but chuckles and smiles down at Daebru with a shark like grin due to his lack of lips and rather sharp looking teeth, "I am a man of honor today, I heard you were getting another mission and thought I'd come see you before you head off to... ya know do your thing"
Is he jelous? no, this is concern, but why? "I see, I'm glad you found me then," Daebru leans against Jack a bit looking up at him with a soft smile, "I think I would have been upset if I wasn't able to see you at least once between missions, ya know. You always put a smile on my face" he can't help but reach out for Jack's hand.
The much older man doesn't pull away from him, instead lifts him up, "I wouldn't miss it for the world Haaru. You bring a smile to my face as well with your impish behavior around here" he chuckles, "You're becoming quite the young, woman I see. Still short as hell though!"
Daebru smacks his shoulder, "all the more reason for you to carry me around, like the princess I am yes?" he bats his eyelashes playfully causeing Jack to chuckle and shake his head before carrying him to the library, "And you even know where I need to go already! A true knight for me!" he can't help the giggle that escapes his lips.
"Sune is rather easy to find, most of the time. You are supposed to find your Keeper for your mission, have them help you get everything set up," he shrugs one shoulder about the standard procedure of the Order.
"Why don't you have a Keeper?"
"Never needed one, I like doing my own ground work, and don't get easily distracted like some beauty I know" Jack lightly taps Daebru's forehead causing Daebru to blush and duck his head a bit.
"B-beauty huh? I .. I don't think you've ever said that about me before"
"Haven't I? I could have sworn I told you of your beauty and confidence in waves every time I see you"
"Perhaps you just thought it then..." surely he can't have been thinking like that all this time, I know I'm but a child, but I try to look older than I am, maybe he sees how hard I try?
Jack carries him over to where Sune is deep in books, casting a shadow over his reading seemingly on purpose. Sune lifts his head after a moment to look up at them, "Haaru" he comments with a caring smile before his lips flatten in aknowledgement at the other man, "Jack... why are you carring Haaru around? They're going to feel like.." he shakes his head, "nevermind, it's not my business" though his tone doesn't sound pleased in the least about the view, "Got your mission Haaru?"
Daebru nods, "of course, and more of that...stuff so you don't have to worry as much" he slides down to the floor but his hands linger on Jack not wanting the man to leave but knowing he needs to talk with Sune about the mission in private. He pulls out the scroll and hands it over to Sune, "should just be information gathering this time. per your request..." He fidgets under the watchful gaze of Sune a bit aggitated that it's not an assassination like he's been taking. Not since my birthday freak out...
Sune looks from Daebru up to Jack, "We need to discuss some things before taking off. Unless you have something you need to say to me of Haaru now, it can wait until we come back" he rises from his seat though he's not as tall as Jack he holds himself in a way that makes it appear as if he's looking down at the taller man.
"Sune!" a bit of anger rising in his voice at pushing Jack away like that.
"It's alright kiddo" Jack gets down on his haunches to be eye level with Daebru, "Sune's just looking out for you, knowing my reputation and all," he gives a light wink that Sune doesn't seem to catch and slips something small into Daebru's hand before ruffling his hair and standing up, "I'll leave you to it. I'll be in the lounge near the main hall if you have time before-"
"He won't" Daebru winces a bit at the use of he rather than she, but relaxes as Jack doesn't seem to notice the slip up.
"Right" Jack gives one more look down to Daebru, "see you later Haaru" rolling the r of his fake name in a way that sends a tingle down Daebru's spine. Then he's gone almost like he was never there, leaving Daebru teetering on heels a bit.
Daebru looks up to Sune with sad eyes before he takes a seat at the table and rests his head on his arms, "I'm glad he didn't notice you call me he instead of she..." he mutters more to the table than Sune.
Sune's eyes go wide, "did I? Oh Haaru I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to!" he reaches over placing a hand gently on Daebru's elbow, "You know I would never tell anyone!" he waits for Daebru to nod before he slowly opens the scroll, "This is quite a ways away... There's a festival in that area right now, that should give you plenty of cover at least. Seems like a good place to enjoy some free time as well"
"Too bad Jack can't be there" he mutters again causing Sune to let out a heavy sigh, "Why don't you like him?"
"It's not that I don't like him, Haaru. I just don't want to see you hurt because of the ... the way he is"
"That's all?" his voice sounding small even to himself.
"Yes, that's all. Seeing him carry you around like that ... how long do you think you'll be able to hide your true nature from him?" he purposefully looks down at Daebru's lap to indicate he means the male aspect, "Then what will happen to this princess and knight charade you have with him?"
Dabeu shifts a bit like he can hide the fact that he's a boy just from that small shift, "I .. I don't know ..." he lifts his head and tilts to the side a bit, "Sune?"
"Yes?"
"What am I gonna do about this?" he gestures to his chest, "or lack of this?"
"Lack of..?" he seems confused for a moment, "oh!" he chuckles a bit, "um... I'm sure we can find someone that can keep their mouth shut to make you something for that. S-something small for sure..." a blush touches his cheeks and he puts his nose in a book to hid his face a bit.
Daebru can't help but laugh at Sune's reaction, "I take it you like big ones?" his voice filled with amusement and laughter at this rather obvious detail.
Sune huffs, "perhaps," his voice quite at the response, "Now you have the vile for your seduction tactics should you need them, but this target you should just be able to overhear with your other abilities. He... he may need taken out depending on who he talks to and I'll have someone nearby to help you out should you need a quick escape."
"You won't be there?"
"I can't in this area, too many hunters of my kind. I would if I could though Haaru, and you know I would" he looks down at the table as if it might have some answers for him to make it easier to not be going, "I'll have a healer on call in case something should go wrong as well. I ... be careful on this mission Haaru, more so than usual. For me" he looks over to Daebru with pleading eyes.
Daberu nods "for you" he reaches out and grasps Sune's hand, "I'll stay safe for my angel"
"Haaru..." he shakes his head rolling his eyes at the mention of being an angel.
