General Information
The setting is one of medieval fantasy. Elves, humans, and dwarves are the most common races. Tieflings and dragonborn are often viewed of as lesser than, because of the way they came to be. Magic is pricey, and not affordable by most of the common folk, where an average days wages are a silver or two. The eastern coast is often referred to as the Coast of Chaos due to strange magic and portals that appear there.
The main continent is called The Kingdom of Spires, and split into five sections. The Spire of Law, The Spire of Magic, The Spire of Trade, The Spire of Faith, and The Spire of Knowledge. To the north are the kingdoms of Breobia and Celinol. Breobia is very eastern in style, and tends to have a temperate climate. Celinol is governed by snow elves, and covered in ice and mountains.
The age of adulthood is based upon how the race matures both physically and mentally. A few of the races are considered adults at age sixteen, most are adults at eighteen, and long lived races, such as elves, are adults at one-hundred-fifty. For humans, adulthood ranges; sixteen in Breobia, eighteen in The Kingdom of Spires, and twenty in Celinol. The race with the youngest adult age are known as Batlings, at thirteen when they reach full physical maturity.
It is frowned upon in the Kingdom of Spires to consent to sex before marriage, but brothels still exist. Companionship is a legal job that can be found at taverns and companion guilds. Those that are found in guilds are more focused on the companionship and less on the sexual endeavours, some are even highly regarded courtesans that have helped manage matters for nobility. Slavery is a rather large issue, but fairly common in some parts of this world. Incest was a common and supported practice until about one-hundred years ago, and many do not have issues with it today.
