KENSUKE: Are you ok…?

MALLEK: Me!? Are you ok!? What did that fucker do to you!?

KENSUKE: Mallek calm down…I’m alright…

MALLEK: No! I asked you to leave this alone! Why were you following him anyway!?

KENSUKE: You wouldn’t tell me what was going on, so I went to find out myself. Things got out of hand, then my glasses fell off.

MALLEK: Did he touch you…?

KENSUKE: Mall-

MALLEK: Did. He. TOUCH YOU!?

KENSUKE: …

MALLEK: …

KENSUKE: …Yes.

MALLEK: That fucker is DEAD!

KENSUKE: Mallek stop! This kind of stuff happens to me a lot!! I’m fine!

MALLEK: Just because it happens a lot don’t make it ok!

KENSUKE: Ok, Ok I understand but calm down...

MALLEK: How am I supposed to calm down!? That son of bitch sexually harassed you! Don’t you get that!?

KENSUKE: OF COURSE I DO!!

It goes dead ass silent.

KENSUKE: I’ve dealt with this kind of stuff so long that it doesn’t even affect me anymore! So don’t sit here trying lecture me…

MALLEK: It’s not that I am trying to lecture you… Dio can be…handsy… trust me I know.

KENSUKE: And what the hell is going on between you two anyway!? Why all the secrets!?

MALLEK: (Sighs) I knew Dio before I started here… We use to be really good friends. He comes from a really bad family; he uses to come stay with us for weeks at a time, when things weren’t so good at his home. Before my parents split up that is… When they split up that’s when a whole lot changed I think.

KENSUKE: Well…what happened…?

MALLEK: Well…my dad took Cyrus and I but Dio wasn’t his child, so he made him go back with his birth family… that was the last time I had seen him for some years. My mother somehow ended up getting custody of us and when we tried to find Dio, he was gone. Turns out, he ended up in jail for stealing food to survive. He got out and wanted to go school. So he came here, not knowing my mother owned this school, or that my older brother was going here at the same time.

KENSUKE: So how did he end up here? This school isn’t really just something you can slide into.

MALLEK: I never said he wasn’t smart. Apparently he whizzed through the entrance exam with 150% The extra 50% was the bonus questions.

KENSUKE: Hm…even I didn’t get those right…

MALLEK: Anyway…he’s not really Cyrus’s age, they just put him in the upper classes because he scored so high. Cyrus found out it was him, told me and then I ended up coming here as well.

KENSUKE: That still doesn’t explain why he’s beating you up.

MALLEK: He felt like I abandon him… I did abandon him…

KENSUKE: But you didn’t have a choice.

MALLEK: Doesn’t change how I feel. When we met again here at Grimwell, he found me all alone them beat me up a little…then…then he just stopped…and looked into my eyes while began to cry. It was like I could see right into his heart…Then the next thing I knew…he kissed me…

KENSUKE: He kissed you…??

MALLEK: Yeah… And I not going to lie and say that I didn’t like it… It felt…different. Like good but bad.

KENSUKE: So I was right, you two are dating.

MALLEK: Uhhh…no…not at all.

KENSUKE: But you just said-

MALLEK: I said he kissed me and I liked it. I never said we were together. After the first time, we didn’t talk about it about at all. Then one day it happened again, and that time I let him do it. It was like…I wanted him to do it… But he started getting too rough with me. I asked him to stop but he’s always too rough.

KENSUKE: You two are just have sex? That’s it? I was expecting something more shocking honestly.

MALLEK: We don’t have sex! Kensuke God, no. I just kinda like it when he man handles me. We just kiss and touch and stuff.

KENSUKE: Oh. Why?

MALLEK: Because I want to?

KENSUKE: But you don’t really seem sold on Dio? It kinda sounds like you are using him…

MALLEK: What!? No. If I’m using him, he’s using me as well.

KENSUKE: That doesn’t make it any better.

MALLEK: Don’t judge. I just don’t feel that way about him.

KENSUKE: And what way is that?

MALLEK: Man, come on. You really gonna make me say it!? I’m not in love with the guy or anything. We are both growing boys! We just satisfy our needs; he doesn’t like me like that either.

KENSUKE: Uhm, Question: How do YOU know that?

MALLEK: Because I…Because… well I never really asked.

KENSUKE: And that is why you fail.

MALLEK: What are you talking about?

KENSUKE: If I’ve learned anything from my powers it’s that: emotions aren’t always trustworthy, so never let them fool you.

Kenny gets up, pats Mallek on the shoulder, then leaves the room. Mallek sits alone, as he thinks about what was just said with a blank look on his face. As Kenny walks around the school, he finds himself in the courtyard’s garden, next to the school’s striking water fountain.

KENSUKE: Whoa…

He takes a few steps closer to the fountain, then kneels down to get a better look at the water.

KENSUKE: Hm. No matter what, I always seem to discover new things in this school, heh.

He runs his fingers in the water, the coldness makes him sighs. And he flashes back to a time before Mallek, before Grimwell. He finds himself staring into the water. Kenny and his adopted family are all sitting down for dinner in their lovely home.

DIANA: I’m so happy that we got to have one last dinner before you head off to Grimwell.

BILLY: Yeah! Things aren’t gonna be the same without yah!

KENSUKE: Heh… well maybe that’s a good thing.

DAN: Nonsense Kensuke! Our lives were so boring before we found you…

DIANA: Honey~, are you trying to guilt him into staying again.

DAN: Ok, ok! I’m just gonna miss him as all.

BILLY: We all are… Kensuke is part of the family…

The room goes silent; everyone looks at each other. Billy looks down into his food and sighs.

BILLY: Kensuke, I know we aren’t your “real” family… I know you really want to find them one day…but…

DAN: I think what Billy is trying to say is…We love you.

Kensuke smiles then looks at the time.

KENSUKE: It’s getting late. My ride should be here in just a moment.

Outside a honking sounds goes off.

DIANA: I think it’s here…

Everyone heads outside.

DIANA: Kensuke…are you sure this is what you want? We really don’t mind all the moving.

DAN: You know we’d never want to lose you…but if this is what you really want, as your parents we support you.

KENSUKE: …Thank you guys for everything. Even though I’m not your birth son…you’ve always taken care of me and treated me as if I were. Billy...thank you too for always being there for me when I felt like I needed a someone.

BILLY: I’m gonna miss you little bro…

Billy gives him a long hug, then kisses his forehead.

BILLY: No matter what you find out there…you will always have a family right here Kensuke.

DAN: That’s right!

Kenny puts his suitcase in a black car, then gets in as well.

KENSUKE: I will never forget you guys! Goodbye!

The car drives off into the distances. His old family begins to cry, waving him goodbye. As he’s riding down the road, he pulls up his left sleeves, and looks at the mysterious, black, tattoo markings slowly growing on his arm.
