Cath

I am pretty full after the meal at Pirate's house, and groggy with tiredness, but I'm still...mildly alarmed that Julien chose to greet me with " you must be Cath " he then said "nice to see you" but still...has it been that long that my childhood sworn frenemy (friend/enemy-Alex and I always played in a team against Julien and Ellie in water fights and stuff, but the fact he had to re-introduce himself makes me feel old. those were the good old days. I get to my house,  and open the door with the key Ellie's bro Jace keeps under a flower pot because he thinks he'll be mugged if he takes it to school.  the first thing that makes me suspicious is that all the lights are out. the second is that no-one's in. even jace, who is eleven and should be in bed by now, isn't. I feel like I'm in a horror movie.  the third thing is that there's no sign of anyone else having dinner. I mean, they could be out collecting a takeout, but we only normally have take out on Fridays, and it is a Tuesday night. and anyway, they would've told me. and Ellie's too lazy to walk , even for a take out. she should still be in. I try to ignore all this and start doing some homework on my computer. as I settle down, I notice a faint beat in the air around me. like when you're in the loos at a club; you can still feel the music vibrations, just can't hear the tune anymore. I search once more around the house, then conclude it's coming from...across the street. I look out the window. the only house that has any lights, disco lights, is Esmeree's. all the other houses are blacked-out, like mine. I put on my fluorescent green beanie, and head out. 

Ellie 

yes, I was invited to Julien's for curry night, but I was also invited to Esmeree's house warming. honestly, I completely forgot about julien's curry night until he arrived at the party. he said it was fine, and that Cath had come. I felt kinda betrayed because she hadn't told me, but then i hadn't told her about the party. when I came home from school, where she'd invited me in English ( we had a supply today because miss gayzarebad was 'sick', but turns out she was actually helping set up the party.) I got into my (hopefully) sexiest clothes, which aren't too great, and went over. ya know how when adults have young-ish kids, they have 'parties' that are more like chatting around a table with a galss of wine whilst that one unlucky parent has to wrestle all the kids into one room? well, that's what I thought this would be. I hate that kind of party because the adults expect me to either mind the kids or come and chat with them, both of which are very boring. it is not that kind of party. i'm currently sipping from a plastic cup whilst a load of teenagers from around the corner are glugging down alcohol despite definitely not being 18, but i'm mostly watching alex trying to seduce Julien in the middle of the dance floor. Julien comes up to me. "if pirate asks," he says, alarmingly sober for a 20 year old at a party, " tell her I'm with Alex ." I grin, pleased that they're finally admitting their feelings for each other. I try not to think about what comes next. They and him leave the sitting-room-anything-but-silent-disco and head to alex's house. I move to a different room. en route, I refill my apple juice. I do not think that's just apple juice. I have a feeling someone mixed the cider with it.  Esmeree clearly loves her apple juice, and is in the corner chugging it. also in this room, which I think was the kitchen and is not  hygienic enough to prepare compost, is pirate, who is showing traits of all types of drunk. this is not good. I go over to Esmeree and I honestly cannot remember what we talked about or whatever I can only remember the important bits. 

Cath

the door is unlocked, and I can already tell I hate this party. i also realize I am really thirsty, so go over to a massive bowl with a ladle and ladle out myself three cups of what I assume to be apple juice. I chug them all, refill, and chug them too. I now realize they were not apple juice.  I wander round for about an hour, I think, my perception of time is altered, and after a while find ellie , who is with Esmeree and pirate. ellie looks less drunk than the other two. slightly less. " where's the rest of your family? and also Julien and alex?" I yell over the roar of everything .

"what?" I see her mouth back. there's no way we can talk, so I pull out my phone and start texting her that question. she replies, ' j n a are at a's place, ' and then she sends lots of kissing emojis, 'and my lot went home, but jace is having a sleepover here. ' 

I text back,'is that safe?!' she replies

'he's upstairs with esmeree's lil bro Harrison. he'll be fine xx' the xx is very random, but whatever. 'why is everyone drunk?!?!' I text frantically. 

'cider in the apple juice my best guess . these two are completely pissed.'

'how bout I take p, you take e' I've realized I'm a romantic drunk, and I can't bare to be near someone as hot as esmeree when I have such an urge to kiss someone. before she can reply, I grab pirate and she passes out. I can't take her home like this, she'll trip or something, so I haul her up the stairs and into what I assume is the attic. I need some quiet. there's a couch and a tv, so I sit down and she falls down onto it. my head hurts. as I'm moaning, pirate wakes up. I quickly deduce she's a mix of most types of drunk. she looks angry, then sees me, then 'accidently' falls onto me. like, on me. she's sprawled on top of me . good god this is awkward. and I still have a very strong urge to kiss some one. I frantically feel around for a remote, pirate's green hair getting in my face, and find it. I switch on the tv, and guess what the first thing to come on is? a porn channel. I will not go into detail . pirate is now also feeling around, but not for a remote. god I hope she's too drunk to remember this. i'm not. just when I think it couldn't get any worse, the door creaks open, and a visibly drunk guy comes in and sees us on the couch. a giggling teen girl is behind him, already taking her shirt off. she's very attractive. he says "oh, I see this spot is already taken, we'll go somewhere else. " oh I could scream. I could scream this house down. pirate has started trying to kiss my neck. in a sudden spree of strength, I shove pirate off me and drag her out the house. as we walk past Alex's, I can see they left the light on, the curtains and windows both wide open, and I can never unsee that. I have to frisk pirate for her keys, and she thinks I'm doing something else and tries to kiss me again. after the longest minute  of my life, I find them, open the door and let her in. I navigate the way to the closest sitting room, and dump her on the couch. I cannot deal with this anymore, so I leave. yes, I lock the door.
