“Prayer is not enough to summon wrath” Revadias shrugged. “Prayers are never enough”
“Now I know” Ardeni nodded. “As she did not respond. But you did”
“I heard your cries, I saw your defiance, I listened to your thoughts.” He stepped forward “And I thought it is not fair. That you deserve a chance. But please, continue. I want to hear it from your side.”
“I was desperate. Praying for help, calling her by name, begging. And yet nothing happened. After all, legends are just that, most of the times. Stories. Then I felt cold, I saw shades dancing in the cell. And my shackles unlocked, the door opened and I saw a shadow like it was asking me to follow. So I did. Right here. Where you promised help.”
“I did” Revadias nodded. “If you prove yourself worthy”
“You said you will cloak me, so no one could see me, feel me until I speak. And that I have two hours to get you those things”
“Not things” Revadias smiles “Ideas, meanings, stories. Things are not important. They are just tokens”
“And so I did. Hair of friend was easy, they left Hildrins hair in my cell. The bone of slave, I just had to find out where they put slaves that died. The dishonoured weapon, I stole priests whip, after all, what he used it for was not honourable. But the others were a puzzle. Then I realized that those healers were priestesses of Kereva. And that there is always a green flame of Parsena burning in the shrine, I saw it when I was stealing priests whip. Goddess of life and goddess of Death, is there anything more opposing? I took a branch from Kerevas holy tree and charred it in Parsenas flame. Until now still without word, unseen. Then who can be enemy? Who is more fitting then patron of the house? I found his room, him, sleeping, probably dreaming about what he will do to me in the morning. So I took his sword and cut off his braid. And only three left. I was wandering through the house, unseen, thinking about how I could earn a jewel. And I realized for that one I need to be seen. I stole tunic form slaves quarters, to not walk around naked. And… if I am dressed like a slave, no one will look twice right? As I wandered, I saw a guard standing in front of some vault. I went to him, looking at his armour, not so well made as patrons for sure but still fitting. And what caught my eye was his axe, more specifically gemstone decorating it. And if vault he was guarding was treasury, it was also the place, where I could steal another jewel. So I appeared in front of him, challenged him to duel and before he could react, I stabbed him with patrons sword. And yes, from him is bone of noble. I won his weapon by right of the duel, so I earned the gemstone. And I used his insignia to get to the vault. So I stole the jewel from there.”
