Its been a few days since our duo has spoken to each other. Jessie had been pretty distracted while Luke was thinking about what would most likely happen. It continued until the announcement of spring break. The last day… Jessie walked with Luke and before she could speak.

“I’m hungry lets get to Phinbellie's,” Luke said

Jessie initially shocked, agreed. They headed towards a diner and ordered their food which they referred to as the “usual” to go. They wondered where they should go and eat, they decided to go on sunset building. They called it sunset building due to the time they ran away from security guards and lost them by climbing this particular building. On top, if the time was right, they had a perfect spot to watch the sunset. They sat down and enjoyed their food, just talking and remembering their funniest moments. Then, came the big answer they both waited for.

“Before you answer I'm going to give you one last reason,” Luke said looking straight, “you're going to lose this”

“Lose what,” Jessie asked

“This calmness, I know I sound dramatic, but in time you learn you'll miss not doing anything. That life is a lot scarier than it seems. No matter what you do people will only see the differences in you, nothing but a freak” To Jessie it seemed like he was speaking from experience.

Luke faced her and finally opened his eyes. Jessie was shocked, a little scared even, she finally understood what he meant by, "More for others". His eyes were quite unsettling, his irises were a bright red, but the most unsettling thing about them were his pupils, instead of a natural black they were bright orange.

“You have no obligation to do this”

“I want to be dramatic too... wasn't it you who said ‘it's more for other people than it is for me’”

“I hoped you would go the easy route, but then again what did I expect” he sighed and got up, “I won't breathe a word on one condition”

“IF YOU BECOME MY SIDEKICK!” Jessie said with an intense face

“I'm suddenly having second thoughts”

“No plz, I iz sorry,” she said in broken English

“I was going to say if I become your partner, but obviously you know next to nothing about actually being a vigilante, so you'll become, in your terms, my sidekick”

“Who has the powers again,” she said with a cocky grin.

"How 'bout I cut you a deal," he said with one eyebrow raised, "If you can hit me once, you be the leader and I'll listen to whatever you say... You up for it Ms. Powers?"

They both got up, "Deal". Jay swung immediately, while Luke stepped back causing her to miss. She rushed him while Luke was staying in pace avoiding all of her swings. All she needed to do was touch him to freeze him. That'll teach him who is stronger.

It was a standstill for a few seconds. That was until Jay decided to rush rim and threw her first punch. It didn’t take much to move to the side to avoid the wound up attack. She quickly regained her posture and continued to follow him throwing punch after punch. All Luke was doing was stepping back. She was planning something. She dive took a dive after a swing, pretending to trip. She knows Luke won’t let her get hurt and when he was picking her up, that’s when she'll strike. Luke stepped forward and grabbed the back of her shirt. She did not expect him to pick her up like this but this'll still work. As she was getting ready Luke pulled hard and threw her on her ass.

“Don’t be so obvious?” he said with a smirk

Now she has started to become a bit frustrated, he wasn’t taking her seriously. Her hands started to glow blue. Oh, she's going to freeze him. She started going faster and a lot harder. Luke was smirking through most of it, pissing her off. Jesse became pissed and grabbed the floor after missing yet again. The floor started freezing. Luke was surprised and started to lose his balance, this was her chance and she rushed him. She was going to hit him, she was going to win this. Luke smirked, spun avoiding Jay, and regained his balance quickly before turning back. Not paying attention, Jesse kept on running until she was going to fall off the roof. As she was about to fall, Luke grabbed the back of her shirt, preventing her from dying.

“Partners?” he asked

“…partners…” Jesse mumbled
