There once was a doll. Her skin was pure like snow and her eyes shined brighter than the stars in the sky. Out of all the other dolls, her maker liked her the most. So, he put her on display in the window of his shop so all could see her.
Many people who pasted the store stopped to see the doll. The kids all wanted to play with her, the adults loved the friendly smile that never left her face, even the popular kids liked her.
Day after day people would stop to see how the doll was doing, to talk and play with her. Everyone knew the happy doll and the doll knew everyone, she had all the friends she could ever want. Or so she thought.
One day, a new girl passed the shop and stopped to look at the doll. The girl frowned once she saw the doll's smile.
"It's okay. You don't have to pretend around me."
The girl then smiled as she saw tears come to the dolls eyes. For the first time ever, someone was able to see the pain and stress behind her smile. As the doll's smile slowly dropped, the mask she hid behind shattered off her face, the tears from her eyes overflowing.
The doll watched as the girl waved, sending promises of coming tomorrow before leaving. The d9ll then realized what happened, she made a real friend.
The doll smiled with tears in her eyes as she enjoyed a feeling she never had before, happiness.
