They bring me food, it tastes like the food inside the wall
After a few days, they let me out of the cell. A group of runaways escorts me to the wall entrance, standing there were 2 security guards. They looked at me and write something down. A few moments later, my mom and dad show up. My mom walks up towards me hugs me and gestures to my dad. I look up at his face, signs of relief but behind that mask of relief is his disappointment in me. He nods and says, "let's go home." he turns and starts walking. We both start following him.
When we arrived home, Clover was there sitting on the kitchen counter. Once she hears the door open she looks up to me standing there with my mouth ready to apologize. Clover jumps up from the counter and hugs me tightly. I embrace the hug, pulls away smiling. I can see the dark circles under her eyes.
"You have homework." Clover says
I nodded, my dad chimes in and tell me to wash up and go to sleep. I lay in bed after the shower, happy I'm in a soft bed.
" Your folder of homework is under the bed," as she's getting in bed
I nod. Clover falls asleep, I get up and look out the window. I took a deep breath of the air, less fresh than the air outside of the wall. I saw patrol walking around so I quickly closed the window and went to bed.
Morning comes without a warning.
